Amazing Experience!

My trip to Costa Rica was perfect from beginning to end. The staff at Villas Sol Hotel and Beach Resort went above and beyond to insure that our stay was pleasurable. The entire property is beautifully maintained. The rooms, lounge areas, restaurants and pools are impeccably clean. Food was good! I did not come across a single staff member that was not smiling, friendly, helpful, informative and patient. Transportation around the hotel and surrounding areas was made easy with drivers from Villas Sol. I was impressed with how timely they were. We attended three excursions, booked through the hotel, which were also beyond amazing. Big thanks to all! Five stars!

Great place...Very Costa Rica. Not so commercial for an All Inclusive

Pros: Quiet, all inclusive, local gem
We honeymooned here in August of 2007 and couldn't have better things to say about Villas Sol and the staff. The resort is great b/c it is small enough that the staff get to know you, but the way it is set up you feel like you're there by yourself. We stayed in a private Villa rather than the hotel. When we checked in they did not have the plunge pool available that was promised so they upgraded us to one of the nicest Villas on the top of the hill with the best view...Amazing! The food was great...very local. If you're expecting the grand buffet you would see at larger All Inclusive resorts then you may be disappointed. The bartenders were also great...making us local drinks rather than the standard margarita etc. The Resort has golf carts running 24/7 to help guests move around the resort b/f of the massive inclines (much like San Francisco) and how much it is spread out. If you struggle with walking around this is not the resort for you. However, if you're up for a little adventure...want some local flavor with the pampering of an All Inclusive stay at Villas Sol...preferably in a Villa for the full experience. This is our 5 year anniversary and we will be going back!!! Enjoy :)

stay elsewhere

the only thing good about the hotel food was mexican nite.....the tacos were great and the salsa.......other than this i was very disappointed.....the food was horrible the drinks watered down. We were told this was an all inclusive hotel with only two restaurants and no room service the value was poor........I travel frequently so I know a good value when I get one and this was my worst vacation spot ever!!!!! The staff was friendly and the resort near the beach.....other than that no other good words to say about this hotel..........Sorry I will never go back
