We enjoyed our stay with our two grandchildren. The room, 415, was spacious, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. They all seemed to enjoy their job. The housekeeping staff brought us towels and linens that we needed for the pull-out couch. We didn't use the kitchenette except to make coffee which was a surprisingly good tasting cup of coffee. Breakfast was typical with eggs, meat, oatmeal with many toppings, breads, cold cereal and make -your-own waffles which the kids loved. The dining area was roomy, and comfortable with an outdoor seating area complete with a fire pit! The pool was not for me: very small and cold one time but, thankfully, warm the next. The kids enjoyed a swim. We liked the close access to many restraunt choices, walking to the North Shore Park and even Point State Park was just a ten minute walk across the bridge which was a thrilling adventure for the grandkids. Planning to return next summer and rent bicycles.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was dated in some aspects, updated in others; I think they are trying to improve. Staff said they are under new management. Was worried about our stay based on some reviews, but overall the room was fine. The little store was not well stocked. The area is amazing as long as you stay on the same side of the freeway; Pirates stadium is literally across the street and tons of dining options nearby. Many sightseeing spots are walking distance. River is also very close with nice wide walking paths. We loved our stay in Pittsburgh and would definitely return!

I booked this room months in advance. I arrived and first thing I noticed was a carpet tack strip with nails on the floor. This was unsafe to walk anywhere close to the area without shoes on. Next I noticed the it seemed warm in my room. I contacted the front desk and they sent an "engineer" to our room he did absolutely nothing other than turn the breaker off and turn the thermostat off then back on. He said he would let the front desk know. I called down to the front desk after waiting 40 minutes to hear back and they said there was nothing they could do because they were booked up and I would be compensated for my issues.I then turned the TV on and we only had about 7 grainy channels. I seen that the receiver was hooked up wrong and fixed this issue myself knowing that no one in the hotel would be any to help due to none of the previous issues being addressed. Me and my son spent the rest of the evening watching where we walked in the hotel room and sitting in an 85 to 90 degree room with no airflow. It was absolutely awful would not recommend to a friend 0 out of 10.

Overall, the front desk staff was friendly, quick and efficient. Our check in time was 4 and the room was ready by 3. Once we went to the room, the room temp was at 77 degrees. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up to fix it. We left for the baseball game. (Great proximity to both stadiums and North Shore bars and restaurants. Once we returned two hours later, the room now at 78. We called again and were told the engineer would be up. Again nothing. So I went down and the man at the front desk informed me there were no rooms bc they were sold out. He said we would get a credit for the inconvenience. Just tell them in the morning before check out. Finally, on checkout, I was told no credit. It was disappointing because we were very excited to stay on the north shore but moving forward, we will continue to stay downtown. Positives- check in staff was very friendly. Clean. Breakfast. Convenience Negatives- No ac on a warm and humid day.

Room was clean, staff could not handle the amount of people that was checking in for George Straight concert and other events that were happening. NO PARKING was available while paid when reservation was made. Was told to go find a parking lot to park to park our vehicle in. Those lots were full and could cost over an extra 100.00 to park. The manger left the guy standing at the front desk to while he was looking at the parking lot. The clerk had no idea what to do.

The location is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The only reason I am giving this hotel 3 stars is the front desk guy at night. Otherwise, it would be one. He was extremely kind and helpful both nights of our stay. They were completely out of drinks in the market throughout our stay. The first night my family and I were so thirsty. The day guy at the desk literally told me all I could do was walk to the nearest hotel and buy from their market. Just to get a drink! That is crazy! They didn’t even have water! For 48 hours of us staying there. The morning we left it looked like they had finally added drinks. The housekeeping never came, I had to go ask for towels and he asked me to gather our towels and put them in the hall, But we were on our way out the door. When we returned for the night, they had not cleaned our room, emptied trash, or taken dirty towels. They just put the towels right in the door. Other guests were complaining as we were checking out. My son made a mess on the carpet, and I cleaned it. As I was scrubbing the carpet I realized how filthy it was to begin with. There are other hotels near the ballpark to choose from. The only reason I would ever stay here again would be the night guys thoughtfulness.

The advertised that there is parking for 1 car per room. When we checked in- there was NO parking left. The front desk staff said "they must be sneaking people in" and did absolutely nothing about it. They had a lobby full of people upset people and didn't even care. I'm guessing this happens every time there is an event. There was no compensation for having to park BLOCKS away and pay more. The rooms were dated and dirty. The lobby was nice (but dirty). Would never stay there again or recommend this place to anyone.
