Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need. The rooms were clean and spacious, beautiful building and friendly staff. Parking is what you would expect in a downtown area but was very easy and the attendant was great.

We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment room. It was perfect. The hotel is attached to the Amtrak station, making it very convenient for people traveling by train. Definitely will be staying here every time we take the train to Pittsburgh.

Super awesome historic building, with modern upgraded rooms. We rented the studio and it was more than we expected. Full refrigerator stove washer dryer super clean neat and exactly what we needed for a one-night stay. Great location right downtown walkable to the strip and the PPG paints Arena. Everything was excellent from the staff and the valet parking. The only minor issue we had was they wouldn't let us go into the room just for a brief moment to put stuff we had purchased in the refrigerator without charging us a $50 early check-in fee? I found that very confusing for us just to be wanting to go into the room for 5 minutes? Other than that I highly recommend this place to stay in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh

Tried checking in at 6pm... made to wait and wait for a room, didn't get a room until nearly 1am, it was unclean woth trash on the floor, dirty toilets and bathrooms, only thing seemed to have been done was make the bed... service from the hotel staff terrible, no communication or help, just "you have to understand we are having some issues"

Everyone I encountered was amazing through our experience related to our stay. There was an event occurring in the main entry way during our stay and the valet assisted us in locating parking, called the front desk and checked in from the door, they were very informative and helpful, even the building staff were very friendly and helpful helped us with the door on arrival. It would be nice to be able to use valet service, especially since it is paid parking anyways, and also enter through the nicer main lobby rather than a service entrance and padded frieght elevator... I did chose the Penn because of its prestige, location, amenities, and to view/enjoy craftsmanship of the architecture and chandilers specifically (as a former apprentice of the artist). Overall great stay.

First we were given a room that was dirty (cups, food containers, crumbs, unmade bed). Then we were given a new room without a working code to get into the building and room. We were promised to get a new code later that evening but never received one. We were also told there’d be a person working the front desk all night. After returning from a concert, we couldn’t get into the building. We eventually got in the lobby but were stuck. Not a soul was to be found working at this place. We called the listed number around 20 times and never heard back from anyone. Others were also stuck outside of their rooms for the same reason. I tried a random email address and finally got a new code. This was after about an hour of being stuck in the lobby (after midnight). I would never ever stay here again and will warn others about staying at this hotel. By far the most poorly run hotel I’ve ever witnessed.

I paid for an early check in and followed through around noon. Realized the unit had no heat, the issue was reported several times many promises were made but no heater, spare blanket, or second maintenance personnel ever came. The tub filled during showers which was also reported and never fixed. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY

It was a cold night in Pittsburgh, and the heat was not working in the hotel. Since there doesn't seem to be anyone there at night, there was no way to get extra blankets. I did text them a couple times and left a voicemail. I didn't hear back from anyone until the next morning. I also ran into another guest who was locked out all night. Again, they don't seem to have the place staffed at night, and the keypad wasn't working, so they were locked out.

The room is pretty great! But we were told we were gonna be sent the information for check in before check in so we went out waiting and by 4:30 heard nothing. I’ve called several times and it kept telling me to leave a voicemail, I even texted and emailed too trying to figure out anything I could. Finally they answered my call and said we would get check in information when we got there instead.

Despite several trips to the front desk I was never able to get a working entry code for my door. I was locked outside for almost half an hour, and then stuck inside unable to get into my room for over 45 minutes. Security guard was very nice but mentioned this can happen due to wifi issues. Extremely frustrating paying for a hotel and not being able to get in, or get into your room. Tried to contact hotels.com and was continually redirected to the hotel itself. I called the hotel a total of 28 times throughout this experience without success. Phone was never answered when I was stuck unable to get into my room at 1030 at night. I walked the premises to find the security guard myself. This experience was such that I would never stay here again, and I am frustrated with hotels.com customer service as I do not believe I should have to pay for this night. If you want to do right by your customer. Contact me.
