Class act villas at Kierland.

Pros: The service, the ambience, the happy staff, the seasonal decorations.
Cons: I should have requested a second luggage rack; two people, two racks.
Location: Saw the new aquarium, Odysea in Scottsdale. Incredible, worth the high price to get in.
Second year staying there and loved it. Everyone is professional with not an attitude among them..Must be well managed. The golf course area is beautiful. We were there for a Mayo Clinic Conference 4 days (my daughter attended). I hung out around the place, relaxing. Very quiet place. My daughter did not want to leave, neither did I. Good job villa staff!

Second Visit

Pros: The Villas offer spacious rooms with separate bedroom area. Fully equipped kitchen and separate "relaxation" pool.
Cons: There are minimal dining options at the Villas but plenty of restaurants nearby so not really an issue.
Location: Great location with plenty of shopping nearby along with areas for hiking in the mountains.
Second time we stayed at this facility within a year. Staff has been very pleasant and helpful. Did not attend the vacation club presentation this time and there was no pressure to do so.

The Villas were an unexpected suprise

We thought we were staying at the Westin Kierland hotel and when I went to check in the lady told me we where staying at the Villas which were a few blocks away. My heart sank, I thought for sure it would be lower quality than the main hotel. We checked in at the Villas and were immediately impressed with the staff, they were friendly and welcoming. When we entered our room I was so happy and relieved. We had a one bedroom Villa with a large bathroom, patio with furniture, comfy king size bed, sofa bed for our son, DVD player for the TV, washer/dryer, dining room table, and a perfect size kitchen. The kitchen had a refrigerator, dishwasher, plates, utensils, coffee pot, pots, pans, everything you would need to cook right in your room. We were able to have a few dinners in our room, we washed clothes everyday and were able to go home with all our clothes clean. There were two pools, one was geared towards adult and the other for kids. There was a nice sized water slide, basketball hoop and volleyball net in the pool. The lifeguards had games and fun things to do throughout the day. Our 13 year old son enjoyed it and so did we. The Villas had a shuttle that would take us to the main hotel so we could use the bigger pool with the lazy river. The shuttle was so convenient and even took us to the Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter so we could shop and have dinner without having to drive and find a place to park. This was our first real vacation in 10 years and cannot wait to go back to Scottsdale and stay at the Villas again.

Third time not so much a charm

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
This was our third stay at the Kierland. That in itself says something, we really enjoy the Kierland. This time, however, was less impressive. We've always loved the kitchens with the full sized refrigerators, and we especially look forward to the lovely big showers and the oversized soaking tubs. To be fair, we arrived early an requested the first available room, but this time we ended up with a smaller kitchen, half sized fridge and a tub/shower combo. Not the romantic bath we have become accustomed to at the Kierland. To top it off, the step out of the tub was treacherous. If I were not in good shape, I would be fearful. We've always loved Westins and the Kierland Villas is our favorite Scottsdale retreat, but this particular room was not what we expected. The times we have stayed there before will have us returning with hopes of the same marvelous rooms we have had before.

Convenience and comfort

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
This was our second stay at The Westin Kierland Villas Scottsdale and was as great as the first. The rooms are spacious, with a nice kitchen with full refrigerator with ice maker. The bathroom comes with an whirlpool tub that is great for relaxing before falling into the Heavenly Bed at night. The villa is beautifully and comfortably furnished. The resort is right by the Scottsdale Quarter; lots of terrific shopping and entertainment. It is also convenient to the 101 which makes travel to other areas in Phoenix as easy as possible. Property was also well laid out, there is always plenty of parking close to the building. This is our favorite spot to stay in the Phoenix area.

Perfect stay

Beautiful area in Scottsdale rooms were modern and clean #40A#41. The whole resort was great from the pool to the outdoor grilling area where you can grill your own steak. Walking distance to shopping restaurants and golf #40Keirland Golf course 4 star...although we golfed at Greyhawk #40about 20 min drive...worth it!#41#41.Stayed at Kierland due to a conference in the hotel but will now plan a vacation at this place in the very near future.

Westin Kierland

I expected more. The room was adequate, but on the third floor. The elevator broke, and I had to assist my 70 year old sister up the three flights of stairs. I asked for assistance, but there was no one available to help. It also advertised no dogs, yet we heard a dog barking all night long. I do not feel as though the room was worth the coast - at all.

Westin Kierland Villas

The room was very nice with a great bathroom. The full kitchen was top notch and dish detergant and laundry detergant were provided. Very disappointed in the concierge staff who would pawn us off on each other when asked simple questions...seemed ""too busy"" to provide maps and a list of activities. Seemed more interested in selling to potential ""owners"". Room was not cleaned and had to ask for room to be cleaned. They cleaned it only one time. Many staff members were very service oriented, including front desk staff, valets and some pool staff. For relaxation purposes, I would recommend staying away from the main resort, espcially on busy weekends. The crowd is much more rowdy at the main resort. Overall, I might return to this hotel just for the price and convenience of the full kitchen. Unfortunately, I would not return due to the lack of service that I expect from a Westin.

WESTIN KIERLAND VILLAS

I COULD WRITE A SHORT STORY ABOUT HOW MUCH MY HUSBAND AND I ENJOYED OUR WEEK AT THE WESTIN KIERLAND VILLAS. I SERIOUSLY DO NOT HAVE ONE COMPLAINT. THE RESORT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, IMMACULATELY CLEAN, AND HAS EVERY AMMENITY I COULD EVER NEED OR WANT ON VACATION. \n\nWE HAD A ONE BEDROOM VILLA WITH LIMITED KITCHEN OVERLOOKING THE GOLF COURSE. THE DECORATING STYLE HAD A ZEN-LIKE QUALITY, OFFERING PEACE AND TRANQUILITY. THERE WAS AMPLE CLOSET AND STORAGE SPACE, THE BATHROOM WAS LARGE AND WELL APPOINTED, THE COMFORTABLE BED AND BED LINENS WERE AMAZING.\n\nA WALK TO THE HOTEL PORTION OF THE RESORT TOOK ONLY FIVE MINUTES, AND WE ENJOYED TRYING THE HOTEL'S POOL ONE DAY, JUST FOR A CHANGE FROM OURS. THE LAZY RIVER WAS SO RELAXING. THE TWO POOLS AT THE VILLAS (ONE ADULT, ONE FAMILY) WERE NEAR TO ONE ANOTHER, BUT THE SOUND FROM THE FAMILY POOL WAS NOT HEARD AT THE ADULT POOL. THE ADULT POOL OFFERED A QUIET COMFORT, AND THE STAFF PROVIDED FRESH ICED WATER TO THE GUESTS ON A REGULAR BASIS. TOWELS AND LOUNGES WERE PLENTIFUL.\n\nTHE LOCATION OF THE RESORT WAS VERY CONVENIENT, AND IT WAS EASY TO GET AROUND BY CAR, OR BY THE SHUTTLE PROVIDED BY THE RESORT. THERE IS A MARVELOUS SHOPPING CENTER A FEW MINUTES AWAY, OFFERING A SUPERB SELECTION OF FINE RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS, WITH REGULAR SHUTTLE SERVICE ALL DAY AND EVENING.\n\nWE ENJOYED OUR STAY SO MUCH, THAT WE ARE TAKING SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS WITH US FOR A STAY AT KIERLAND THIS SUMMER, AND I AM ALSO PLANNING A "GIRL" TRIP WITH MY BEST FRIEND THIS FALL. \n\nI WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WESTIN KIERLAND RESORT TO EVERYBODY.\n
