Fabulous Experience!

From start to finish this was a great hotel experience.....from being welcomed when we pulled up at the front, to being welcomed inside (by no less than 3 different people) and directed to the check in area, to a beautiful room, to mixing up directions and someone showing us where to go, to such polite valets offering bottles of water....just excellent service....and I could go on and on about how beautiful the property is....very glad that we stayed there!!!

I loved my stay there. A family environment is what it absolutely is. The only comment I would make is that the pool for adults should stay open later than 10 pm. I have stayed in other resorts where the pool is open late in the evening. I came from California and would've loved to enjoy the pool in the evening because of the hot weather I can only take the day in spurts.

The surrounding areas offered options.

Pros: The cleanliness and view.
Cons: More family oriented games and activities.
Location: The nearby shopping plaza offered good eating alternatives for lunch and dinner. But it could not compete against the hotel's breakfast option.
You can only eat hotel food so many times and then you need to find other options. Luckily the nearby shopping plaza had a variety of restaurants that suited our taste. Family focused activities at this hotel are limited to tennis, golf and the pool. If there others options, the staff does not advertise them. Still we had a good getaway from the daily routine. Our room had a great view and balcony to sit and enjoy the afternoon heat.

Total relaxation

The best resort and spa I have ever been too.You are pampered the moment you drive up to the massive entrance. From there there are no worries everything is there for you, never have to leave the property. The restaurants are so good excellent chefs.Alot of staff to care for you at any of the 4 pools. There are activities everyday for you like yoga, and for the kids, golf for the husband. You will love it,the heat wasn't bad and I went in July.

Never stay here: Overpriced, Poor Customer service

Normally when booking a hotel, you pay via cc when you make your reservation then when you arrive they ask for a cc that will get charged only if there's damages. So I "paid" w/ the company CC (AMEX) in the amount of $260. Upon arrival, when giving a card for "damages" I gave them my debit card b/c that was the only card I had on me. Turns out they charged the ENTIRE stay on my debit card instead in the about $325 (I hadn't charged anything to my room either. That was just for the room for 1 nite). A couple days later, when I went to call about it, the CSR said she could help me w/ the billing issue. When I told her what it was, she xfrd me to the Business Center where I was on hold for 19 minutes. I then hung up, called back and spoke w/ the same woman and told her that I have a billing issue, she said she was going to xfr me to accounting. I told her that I think they are closed b/c I was just on hold for 19 minutes. She xfrs me anyway where I remain on hold for another 20 minutes before I call a 3rd time. This is how the conversation went: Shaunna: "JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort. HOw may I help you?" Me: "Hi. What is your name?" Shauna: "JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort." Me: "Yes I know, what is YOUR name." Shauna: "Who am I speaking with?" Me: "Krystle. Now, what is YOUR name?" Shauna: "This is the front office." Me: "Do you have a name?" Shauna: "Yes." Me: "What is it?" Shauna: "Shauna." Me: "Can I talk to a mgr please?" Shauna: "Can I get your name?" Me: "Again, Krystle" I don't know what kind of people they have working there but they obviously can't comprehend basic English and they don't care about customer service. The mgr, Chelsea was compassionate, although she didn't offer anything to makeup of the my dissatisfaction, she did send over a CC Authorization form that I could fill out to switch charges. The place was VERY expensive. $325 for one night. It was $22 for a turkey sandwich, chips, and coffee and I got that b/c is was the cheapest thing available. The pool is nice though! They have a lazy river. Overall, NEVER STAY HERE!

This hotel was Fabulous !

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
My wife has already sent a review, however I feel compelled to let travelocity know what a great trip we had. The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort was fantastic in every way. The only bad thing was that we had to leave. We will go to the Desert Ridge again and as always, we will book our trip through travelocity.

Fabulous resort! We will definitely return.

We just returned from a long weekend at Desert Ridge. We loved it! The pools, restaurants, golf course and atmosphere are second to none. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are great with very comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed the Vista Lounge, with its happy hour, live entertainment and great food. We all agreed that we will DEFINITELY return!
