Older hotel with good pools

We asked for an upgrade but the nighttime manager was too busy flirting with the staff to consider looking into it. We would have paid more. The large pool was freezing cold. We mentioned it to the staff multiple times before calling the front desk. Surprise!!! The heater was not turned on. It never got warm enough to swim in it. The hotel is clean for an older facility. Definitely needs an update.

We apologize for the challenges you faced during your visit. We have had to close our main pool because of renovations. It will be opening soon. We do thank you for your review and hope to see you again in the future.

Find the Tipi and Maze

Pros: Tipi. Intention Maze. Swinging chairs. Pool. They keep the rooms very cold - feels great.
Cons: It's a bit outdated, but cute and comfortable!
Location: Go to the White Chocolate Grill about 20 away.
We arrived around 1:00 am and the greeter was SO happy to see us! What a great welcome! The lobby is a one mile drive from the entrance, which is a lovely drive, but we had been on the road for 6 hrs so we wished it was closer. Our room was huge and we had a great view of the boulders - 221. The bathroom layout was a bit outdated, with a large bedrock-style vanity in the middle. But it worked well and the heat lamp over the shower entrance was a nice touch. The pool area was quiet and the smoothies and strawberry basil lemonade were out of this world! So refreshing and delicious. We found a large Tipi next to the pool area. Go to it and sit inside. Then we found an Intention Maze. Our intentions were to "relax" and "float" during our weekend getaway. Next to the maze, how perfect, floating chairs hanging from the tree. Check and check! We were so relaxed we forgot to check the time and booked it back to our room. PLEASE NOTE: They deactivate your key right at 12:00 pm (check-out time). Make sure you call them and let them know you'll be lounging at the pool forgetting about time, otherwise your things will be getting all the AC while you're stuck outside. A gentleman did come and let us in. Which was great, because the lobby is a bit of a walk. Oh and it was 105 degrees, so shade and AC were important!

Great Resort!

Pros: Beautiful surroundings
Cons: Not the resorts fault but guests using the pool area should not leave all their belongings and disappear for hours! Also pick up your garbage people!!
Had a great 3 night stay. The casita room we had was very comfortable with a nice deck overlooking the golf course. Bed was extremelly comfortable and we are use to a sleep number! Staff is awesome and so helpful-you can tell they all really like their jobs. Note: the resort is spread out and golf cart shuttles are readily available but if having your car close to your room is important than this is not the place for you. Adjoining shopping center had good restraunt choices-Spotted Donkey was great for mexican food and drink. Cave Creek area a short drive away.

Great stay with fabulous staff

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
My husband and I did a short weekend "staycation" and it was so great to be at the Boulders. We love love loved it. What a relaxing time at the spa pool hanging out and just getting some sun The staff were amazingly helpful and on top of everything. We had to take the cart everywhere but it was not an inconvenience at all. Highly recommend this place!!!

Beautiful facility. Offers comfort and privacy

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
My room was quiet and clean. The view was amazing of the mountains ,and wild life was right outside my window. I was most pleased with the punctual delivery of my room service order. The food was fresh and the presentation very professional. I will be rescheduling my next weekend away at the Boulders.

Perfect quiet get-a-way, yet a real 'village' feeling. The wildlife was wonderful!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
We loved this mountain retreat! Beautiful grounds, excellent service, quiet! Nature at every turn. Awesome!!! The 18 hole golfcourse was imaculate & incorperated the natural surroundings beautifully. Very cute, quaint towns nearby for additional shopping & entertainment. A real feeling of the old west to them.
