Royal Palms Hotel
"The hotel reminded of a beautiful old Colonial style Hotel. The grounds are beautiful. Location is a short walk to the shops in Hamilton. The breakfast area, which includes a free breakfast, is partially open to the outside and is surrounded by a tranquil garden. My one criticism of the breakfast area is that small birds come in and walk on tables and the breakfast area. There needs to be a better effort to keep them out of the room. My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast every morning. In the evening at 5pm there is wine and beer and cheese and crackers provided, again for free. There is a cosy living room to sit and dine on sofas and converse with other guests if you so choose. The restaurant on site is an excellent choice for dinner. We ate there on 2 occasions. Room was great. No complaints, clean and well serviced daily. King size bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. The pool is small but perfect for a smaller hotel. Only 6 loungers but half the time we could snag a couple. Only complaint at the pool is that the staff smokes out the back of the hotel and the smell of smoke often wafts into the pool area. My wife and I smelled it both in our loungers and in the pool. However we very much enjoyed our time at the pool. Highly recommend this hotel and it’s ambiance and the helpful and friendly staff is a welcome change to many of the larger hotels we have frequented."
