Paris Marriott

Pros: Taxi's are readily available out front.
Cons: Timeliness at the front desk, baggage check was not present.
Location: Location is further away from Paris attractions that I was under the impression of. It takes significant time to get around.
Service was extremely slow while checking into the room. Room itself had multiple material discrepancies, such as bathroom door not shutting. Daughter has a peanut allergy and the menu stated to inform them which we did, however there was almost nothing available for her at diner and breakfast it was stated everything had peanut oil. Bacon, eggs etc. After stating this to us the waiter seemed surprised that we were not going to eat there. Upon arrival our room was not available and they suggested checking in our luggage. As soon as we walked up to the place they suggested the employee walked away and did not return. We waiting so long to check our bags that the room was available first. Please see photo for actual window views, it was more than i expected.

Dear Guest, I would like to thank you for taking the time to review our Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel .Our Guest comments and observations are of utmost importance to us in helping us improve our service and performance. . I am sorry you found the location of the hotel not convenient and just for your information either side of the hotel opens up to a wider part of the area for access to Denfert Rochereau and Place d’Italie where there are a variety of restaurants, cafes, boutiques (including a great shopping mall), cinema, and the famous Catacombes. It is disappointing should you not have seen this side of town whilst staying with us. Also Glacière station is nearby and a great way to get about for sightseeing and much more. Thank you once again for reviewing our hotel.

Excellent Hotel

We took our granddaughter to Paris for her 16th birthday present and could not have picked a better hotel. On arrival they heard about her birthday and in our room was champagne and chocolate. The Executive lounge is a plus for breakfast and beverages. They had a buffet at 5:30 but we were never back at the hotel for this. The train station is close by and we were able to use the Metro exclusively. The concierge desk was also extremely helpful. The hotel exceeded my expectations.

This is a 5-star hotel that is reasonably priced!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet, close proximity to metro, staff
The hotel staff was extremely helpful, very friendly, and very professional. We had a junior suite and a king-size bed room. Access to the lounge is well-worth it. Breakfast was a feast and although we returned early enough for the happy hour, it was more like a buffet dinner than the usual hh snacks. The rooms were clean and spacious (a commodity in Europe), hotel provides 3 converters for a refundable deposit, and the metro is a short 2 blocks. The concierge staff was the most helpful that I have ever encountered, in fact, one suggested a metro route slightly different than what guide books recommend to provide us a more amazing sight, and it surely was. There were 5 in our party (ages 9 to 62) and each us has the same opinion of the hotel.

Convenient location and Marrott quality

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Good location for business or pleasure without having to deal with downtown congestion. About 5-8 Metro stops to the tourist attractions. Walking is also possible (~ 2-3 miles). The hotel is clean and secure, and the quality of food is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in the fall. The staff were very friendly and helpful the location was convenient and the price was right. In fact we also stayed at the much pricier Vendome Mariott and they were not nearly as friendly and helpful. Even if I had more money to spend next time I would choose the Marriott Rive Gauche.

What I expect from Marriott

I've come to really trust and rely on Marriott across the world and Paris did not let me down. They have a virtual conceirge that will assist you prior to your arrival with any questions. We got adapters for our US products at no charge, just a small deposit and they have real king size beds, a/c and large rooms for Paris. Most European countries call a queen bed a king and this was a real king. The staff spoke English, they were friendly and helpful! Ask the conceirge to point you in the direction of Alouette for dinner one evening. Great food, within 7 minutes walk and not as over priced as some of the more popular places. There are three metro stations within 5 minutes or less walk and if you are going all over the city, I highly recommend buying multiple day metro passes in advance. You can get all over the city, at a reasonable price and short walking distance to the metro. I would definitely stay again and it was up to the standards that Marriott in the states is! The food at the hotel is good but very expensive! Expect to pay around 24 Euros for breakfast, per person. So I recommend finding a little bakery close by or hit the express bar down near the lobby.
