This is a beautifully renovated hotel with a lively bar and restaurant. It’s a short walk from the metro station and has lots of good coffee shops nearby. The kitchen in the room was also a nice bonus (who doesn’t love a little late night baguette with French butter). We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great everything on all levels. Location was exactly what we wanted, not too touristy, but walling distance from main cultural sites we wanted to visit, great restaurants around. Perfect staff! The hotel is gorgeous and convenient to the metro. We stayed for 7 days over Christmas. However, there were some unfortunate problems with our room. First and worst, the shower only went to SCALDING hot or cold. We brought this to the attention of maintenance, but it was never fixed. Second, the bedroom floor weren't well vacuumed. I found several clumps of hair on the ground and the hemp mat under the bed shed badly. They're difficult to clean as it is, so don't look too closely. Third, Bibie charged us a "tourist tax" - requesting a tip after dinner. Finally, upon reservation we had asked it was possible to push the two Twin beds we'd reserved together to make a King. Along with the appropriate topper and sheets, since we were husband and wife and no traditional king room was available. The hotel graciously agreed, but our room was not set up this way upon check-in. I asked about this at check-in and the hostess seemed confused and didn't find any mention of this request in our file. It wasn't a huge deal, but for the premium price we paid, we were disappointed at these service flaws.

This hotel was SUPERB. Beautiful, cozy, lots of places for sitting and gathering. The downstairs cafe was perfect. Staff could not have been more kind and helpful (especially Gonsalo). The room was comfortable and clean. Location in the Latin Quarter was perfect.

This is a lovely hotel close to many sites. The restaurant is excellent. The room is spacious enough with a microwave, dinnerware, fridge. Very quiet. Walkable to Notre Dame, Sainte Chappelle, Pantheon, and Cluny. Metro 5 minute walk. Restaurants everywhere. We didn't go to the nearby Jardin des Plantes as we went in December, but it looked wonderful. We definitely recommend this hotel!

A friend's family picked the location, wish I could say I had. Great location with an awesome friendly staff and vibe. Rooms have kitchenettes and great laundry facilities. Nice bars too!

We had wonderful service from all of the staff at this hotel, from the time we checked into, until check out. The hotel was very clean, beautiful, food and drinks were all really good. The beds were comfortable. The location for 2 women travelling alone was very safe and in a great area to explore the city. Highly recommend.

How this hotel was granted four stars is a mystery for the ages. The only room amenities were coffee pods and teabags. No minibar, snacks, or even a bottle of water. The shower temperature was highly erratic, sometimes dangerously so when it would suddenly spike to scalding. More often it was lukewarm at best. While we know that Paris hotel rooms do tend to be small, there was barely room to walk between the wall and the far side of the bed and a similarly tiny distance between the end of the bed and the lone table—making night bathroom visits from that side rather precarious. The only flat space on which to place anything was that small table and ridiculous “nightstands” comprised of tiny semi-circular shelves less than a foot wide by about four inches at their deepest. In addition, the room was gloomily underlit and often drafty. Finally, rooms are only cleaned weekly; there are additional charges to have done more frequently. Due to the lack of standard housekeeping, we had to request additional toilet paper halfway through our stay—not something you expect to have to do at a “four-star” hotel!

Great stay at JdV. The trip was a birthday present to myself and when I arrived, was welcomed with a note and a small token for my birthday. Rooms are small (it's Paris) but have everything you need. Bed was super-comfortable (firm-ish). No issues with noise either from inside the hotel or outside (my room faced the courtyard). Great location, convenient to multiple Metro lines and within walking distance of many great restaurants, bars, boulangeries/patisseries, and grocery stores. Would gladly stay here again.
