We found the hotel quaint and charming and the location was within walking distance of many attractions and famous sites. The Thai restaurant across the street was excellent for dinner. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful and allowed us to store our luggage on site while we toured the city on our last day. Everything was clean and comfortable and the complimentary bottle of wine was a nice surprise. We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends without hesitation. The breakfast included with our room was more than sufficient and everything was fresh and well supplied.

Nestled on a quiet street. Enjoyed the free bottle of wine in room. Rooms are cozy, challenged to open a suite case. Hotel staff helpful in providing directions and pre-arranging a taxi to the airport.

Not a thing to complain about. Great location, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the cave was awesome. Room was small but had everything we needed. Bathroom was spotless. Highly recommend.

Not so good

We knew it was on the more affordable side of things but the condition of the room and general vibe of the place was worse than expected. The decor was very dated and not at all cosy. The floor in our room was an old tile and the walls had stains from previous damp. There was a constant sound of pipes/drains coming from the walls which kept me up. Also the double bed is just two singles put together, which means the middle is rather uncomfortable and feels like you’re lying on the frame. The wall behind the bed also had a silly metal ornament all over it which made sitting in the bed awkward. There’s little in the way of tea/coffee/milk etc and you don’t even get actual mugs, just disposable cups. There’s not much soundproofing either as I was woken every morning by the neighbours in the room opposite making bizarre sounds and coughing up their guts. On the plus side, the sheets and towels were clean and the shower was good. The lift was very rickety and the general feeling once you’re on the upper floors is that it’s a bit dilapidated and kinda claustrophobic. If you’re looking for an affordable but nice stay in a hotel I’d look elsewhere as it felt more like a very cheap private hostel than a hotel. It’s not somewhere you’d want to be aside from when you’re sleeping, and even that I found a bit of a struggle with the noise.

The location is great. You can walk to the opera, concerts at Church of Ile St. Louis, Musee Carnavalet, Notre Dame, Musee Picasso and much more. It is very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Many bookstores in the neighborhood. The shower stall in the bathroom was so small, but the bed was very comfy.
