Comfort Inn Matthews - Charlotte
"I haven't stayed at Comfort Inn for long, long time (maybe 10 years), and I was pleasantly surprised. The #1 thing that I love that hotels have done in the past 10 years is providing shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the big bottles attached to the wall. Loved that they have implemented those at Comfort Inn! And it was decent quality too. Breakfast was a little bit better than what you would expect at an economy hotel. They had the waffles, egg item, and sausage (the norm), but they also had pancakes and bacon, so a little bit more of a selection that other hotels. The only recommendation I have is to provide hot sauce. The lobby is beautiful. However, once you're past the lobby, it is visibly noticeable that it's a bit dated, but still a great value for the price. I did dock a star for two reasons: 1. The pillows are AWFUL! They are like little bags of clumps of that polyester fiberfill. 2. The fridge was missing the bars on the door shelves to hold beverages and there wasn't a temperature setting, so I opened it the next day to find everything frozen, including a green salad that I was really looking forward to eating. 😞 We had to throw out some of our food."
