Good value

Conveniently located near a Metro stop, this was a great, budget option for a single night stay. Good water pressure and hot water, air conditioning. Building was a little run-down and this hostal was only part of one floor in the overall building. Good security.

Ok Stay!

Getting into the building was not straightforward. Buzzers and speakers - pushed buttons until someone finally answered and buzzed me in. Actually, getting back out was tricky too - there were many locks and it wasn’t very clear how to open the outside door. I went back upstairs and asked for a demo - that should have been offered when I checked in.The room was fine and very clean.

The Hostal is in a great spot, with dining and entertainment options a plenty. Everything is walkable and if not the metro is close by. Would recommend if other hotels too expensive.

The hostel is in a great neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and both the bedroom and bathroom/ shower were spotless. The proprietors were friendly and very helpful. All in all, Hostalin Madrid Atocha was a bargain.

The hotel is clean, bed is comfy, the reception is helpful however we had a hard time in finding where it is as there is no signage at all outside. The guy from the shop next to it only pointed where it is but we have been looking around already for minutes. Aside from that, it is in a very good location, close to tourist spots, restaurants and the metro.

Perfect location, very close to everything. Clean room and staff ok. It's not really an hotel, I think it was a big apartment transformed into a "hostal", so the entrance is in common with all the other flats. The internal walls of the rooms are very thin and they don't really insulate the sounds and noises coming from other rooms or the reception.

Overall great experience

In my case i stayed in a room with private bathroom, facing main road (calle Atocha).. It was a temporary stay before moving to my flat, and it served my needs for that purpose. The room was super clean, internet worked well, and i didnt have an issue with noise, as there are two windows at the balcony door, for cancelling the noise. AC worked great and is needed in Madrid :) Staff was also super friendly for my check in and check out. If you are more of a loud/party crowd i wouldnt recommend it, walls are thin, and i actually wrote a message to the reception when people were loud at night. It was dealt within a few minutes and i was able to sleep well. So overall a good experience if you lo9ok for an affordable, clean place in the centre of Madrid.

The chicken was quick and the room was very clean. The area is central and definitely worth the price. It is located in front of the metro and also next to some delicious restaurants

We canceled this reservation in the time frame even though we got charged for the full amount. We've called Expedia more than 7 times and after 40 days without an answers, Expedia just confirmed that the Hotel won't refund the money. At this point, we don't know if Expedia didn't process the cancellation or the hotel but what I know it's that we've wasted our money and time here.
