Best LA Hotel

We had an amazing time at The JW Marriott LA Live. Steps away from The Staples Center with lots of things going on. The hotel restaurants and staff were awesome. I will stay at this hotel when I come back.

Too far from downtown. Co-branded building with Ritz Carlton.

Very noisy room from adjoining room pounding on wall to kids crying and running in the hall. TV reception was very poor and not in HD.

great location!

Pros: I know what to expect from Marriott.
Cons: Elite breakfast was cut off promptly at 10 AM.. Not one speck of breakfast was to be had there after 10...
Location: everything..Santa Monica pier Staples center..Hollywood.
checked in early. Hotel staff very accomodating, courtious. Love the Marriotts. I know exactly what to expect. Room service was a little slow for my glass of wine but other than that everyone was extremely pleasant!

Great Location for Staples Center - Expensive

Location: In same complex as Staples Center and near 5-10 very good restaurants.
It is a good hotel in a great location. Very easy walk to a ton of great dinner spots. Staples Center or Convention Center are both next door. Parking is $42 a night, room service breakfast was close to $40 (and twenty minutes late) and dry cleaning was well over $10 an item. If budget is not a concern it is a nice place to stay. Staff are quite nice and the bell hops/check-in was done quite quickly and friendly.

Concierge service was extremely helpful!

Pros: Close restaurants, great location, close to local transportation
Cons: No free Internet
This hotel is worth staying at, especially if you are planning to attend a sports event or concert. Location is very convenient with walking distance access to Staples Center, Nokia. We didn't rent a car and I was a little concerned about getting around but the metro was about 10 minute walk and the bus is about 5 minute walk. If you are not planning to see a lot of sites, you don't really need a car. Catch the metro red line to Hollywood Boulevard and you can get a lot of tours from there. The concierge gave me great directions. There is also a Denny's nearby, which is nice if you get tired a paying for the hotel meals. We ate at ESPN Zone the first night and the food was great (not to mention all of the TVs with every sporting event playing) - it was my son's dream come true. The main disappointment was paying $13 for wireless internet PER DAY! Given the hotel rate, I think they could at least give the guests free internet for a few days! Make sure you visit the Grammy Museum (right around the corner from the hotel) and the Hollywood Museum!

Excellent Hotel w/ Great Views!!

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
This was our first trip to Los Angeles & if you're going to stay downtown, this is definitely the hotel to stay at!! Located at LA Live it made for great night views from our room, so many choices for dinner & Starbucks every morning! it was close to the Metro train & bus stops so we were able to view everything including Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills all from staying downtown in just the short weekend we were there. Great hotel!

Awesome location

Had concert tickets for the Nokia. Were able to walk out the hotel doors, across a concourse and into the venue. Very convenient for us since we did not have a car. Not a lot of restaurants were open in the area on Sat. but everything in the hotel was very good, such as coffee and snacks. Very accomodating with information and maps of area.
