"Nice small hotel with an open design"
I was very impressed with the hotel. The layout surprised me. The center of the building is like a hollow core with and open air design. Our room being on the lowest floor had sliding glass back door that opened directly out to the dineing courtyard. The hotel is only a few blocks from the beach with a number of good restaraunts nearby. It is also a relatively short drive from the Airport but far enough away that you don't really hear the planes.

"Hotel Varden"
I was traveling alone, so a full size bed was not a problem. The way the bed was configured (with one side against the wall) I think it would be too small and difficult for two people to stay in the room. The shower curtain was problematic. For me on business it was a very convenient and comfortable place. Staff was very nice.

"Location is excellent"
My overall stay has been great except for the stairs, but they do offer help. Free wifi and free parking was nice and the location is a huge plus. There are many restaurants and cafes near the hotel there is plenty to choose from.

"Great location. "
Easy walk to Westwood. Lots of food and things to do. Hotel for now is under remodel. Lots of mess and noise. Having said that, this hotel is far better than most hotels are on a normal running day. A fine, fine place. The staff top to bottom outside and inside is the best I've come across ever. Temp lobby has some really good lemonade. Really good. My go to place in LA from now on.

"Super quiet hotel for travelers"
A great hotel if all you need is a clean bed and clean bathroom. When I arrived I was given room 6xx, which looked fine initially until I took off my shoes and walked to the bathroom and my socks got soaked. The carpet outside the bathroom was flooded. I called the front desk and within minutes someone came up with a new key to a new room. The new room was very clean. The walls are covered with a fine see through curtain. Double pane windows made the room very, very quiet. The bed was fabulous. Great mattress, soft, clean, thick sheets. I slept 14 hours, but halfway through the night I woke up cold. Turns out the heating was only spewing out unheated air. I turned it off and went back to sleep. The shower was very, very anemic. If you're looking for hot, luxurious showers this is not the place for you. All in all, a great place for an exhausted traveler. Never heard a noise. Everything clean. Front desk staff so, so. The airport shuttle left in the morning without making an announcement in the lobby and stranded for a half hour. Nobody cared. Shuttle driver surly. At best. I'd still stay there, but don't look for great service.

"Horrible at beginning better at the end!"
The check in person was awful and rude and purposely changed our room to a out of service room that was disgusting stinks and had nothing in it because it was a unkept room and we have 2 children with us 8 and 12 I asked to switch rooms and the person that answered phone was super rude and asked me if I could read! We got our stuff and started to leave. A front desk person asked us where we were going( not they guy who checked us in he ignored us). We stated our experience and preston got the night manager and he gave us new room which was nice. The next day we met the Mgr in lobby and took off the $38.00 valet fee off our bill.

"Nice hotel.. Great location "
We arrived early and were not able to immediately check-in so the staff offered to hold our luggage while we went out for breakfast. Room service was fast and all of the cleaning ladies were friendly and nice. Hotel was clean and we did not have any issue with loud neighbors. All and all, great trip.
