THE GOOD: The hotel has a warm woodsy lodge feel to it. Plenty of free parking. Walking distance to a few stores and restaurants. Large, handy room. The hotel and grounds are very clean. THE SO-SO: The hotel is a bit dated and is showing some wear and tear. There is a noisy train that goes by often. Staff did their job, but were not overly helpful. No AC in the room (it was hot and stuffy in the room during our summer visit).

Lovely hotel

We loved our 3-night stay here in the loft suite and wish we could have stayed longer. Massive and extremely comfortable king size bed. The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was almost the size of a hot tub with lovely toiletries. Lovely hotel interior and grounds. We had dinner in the Outpost pub which was busy and had a good atmosphere with friendly staff. We did end up on the railway side but didn't find this much of an issue. Most of the trains had gone through by the time we went to bed and there was just a low rumble in the morning when we were already awake. Loved seeing the Rocky Mountaineer go past.

Dining room food and service was excellent, the bellman was very helpful. The front desk needs help. How do you give keys to a room that already has guests in it? Also why are there still physical keys? haven't seen that in 20 years. Still a great location and nice property on the river.
