"Still nice, but a step down from previous stays"
This is the fourth time we have stayed here since 2009 (2013 was the last time) and although it was very nice, it was far below previous experiences. Our room with a king bed and pull out sofa was perfect for two adults and a child, but the common facilities did not live up to our expectations. Several parts were under renovation, including Sonz, which used to be the breakfast restaurant. The new breakfast area was much more crowded and breakfast was not as good (no omelette station.) The whole place felt much more crowded, almost no seats at the pool if you come in the afternoon, very very few seats with any shade at all. Practically anywhere I tried to sit was next to a construction site, including the main open area next to lobbby, side area overlooking garden. Not sure if it has anything to do with the new timeshare, which was not there the last time we visited, but it seemed like there were about 30% more people than was appropriate for the facilities.

"Excellent Accommodations on Maui"
We have been to Maui multiple times over the past 20 yrs and always stayed on Kaanapali beach but this time we stayed at the Kapalua Villas and loved it. The area is not as crowded and the accommodations are so much better than a hotel room or timeshare. Our family has grown over this time and for the last 10 years have found it difficult to stay in a single hotel room with kids. We've stayed at the timeshare resorts in Kaanapali but those get small after a few days and we wanted more room. We booked a 2-bedroom for 7 days at the Kapalua Villas for the kid's fall break in Oct and were given a 3-bedroom during our stay. The entire family was comfortable for the duration of our stay, plus I didn't get bothered about buying a timeshare. Will definitely be returning to the Kapalua Villas on our next trip to Maui.

The view from our super comfortable balcony was just amazing. The hotel grounds were beautifully kept and the food and drinks at the on-site restaurant were very good. Parking was so easy and the staff was very friendly.

"Absolutely Awesome Vacation!"
We had such a wonderful time here! The grounds were gorgeous and expansive. The room was very comfy, and I thought it was nice that this hotel had no resort fee. The restaurant food was fantastic, a bit pricey but totally worth it. I loved the beach bar they had right next to the pool and steps away from the beach. The hotel is right on Kaanapali Beach and it was amazing with gorgeous sunset views everyday. The gift shop had a nice variety of things. The luau was so much fun and absolutely unforgettable! The story teller was goo and the dancers rocked! The food and drinks were spot on. I'd say the only drawback for me was the parking lot. It got full very quickly and was hard to ever find a spot. Overall we had an AMAZING time in Maui and I highly recommend it. Aloha!

"I'd go again"
Kaanapali caals itself the most Hawaiian hotel on Maui. It lives up to it's claim. Maybe not the Garden of Eden but the staff was wonderful and accommodating. From the first morning to the last Aloha they made you feel welcome, wanted and appreciated. Well worth the money!

"Great location. Great employees."
Allowed us to store our suitcases before check-in and moved them into our room. Room was nice and clean. Plenty of chairs for relaxing. Granite counter tops were nice. Bathroom was awesome. Bed was comfy. Loved the turtle tile accents. Lobby is under cover, but outside, which was cool. We got the beach view and the balcony was great. Two chairs and a table allowed us to eat outside. Only disappointment was the $8/day plus tax parking charge. There appeared to be cars parking in the garage without paying and weren't getting towed. Don't know if you could even drive a tow truck in with the low ceilings. When you are paying this kind of money for a room you would expect free parking. There wasn't a resort fee, which is another reason for the good rating. Walking distance to everything in Lahaina. Only problem with the room was ants in the kitchen, which was odd for a room on the 4th floor. It took two calls to fix, but they were great with the follow-up.
