I did not stay after I saw and smelled the condition of the room. The heavy cigarette smoke was unbearable. I also asked for a refund and have not received one.

It's a smaller family run hotel convenient to I5. We like the pool and hot tub and the gardens. Breakfast is continental plus scrambled eggs and sausage/bacon. This was our second stay and we will likely be back.

We were awaken early in the morning by construction taking place in the room next to us. We were not warned or even told by the hotel staff that construction would be going on at 9:00 am in the morning! It was so loud that we both jumped up in the bed because we didn’t know what was going on. When I called the front desk they said that by law they were allowed to do work in the morning. They made excuses for the fact and pretty much justified the situation. When we looked the law up they said that the hotel must first be warned by the hotel staff that construction would be taking place in the room next door at 9:00 am. So that is not what the law says as we were told by the male staff and made to feel stupid and disrespected by hotel staff. I was irate and was beside myself. Never had I ever experienced such disrespect from a hotel staffer!

The room was non smoking but it smelled like smoke. The room smelled hummid as if it doesnt get ventilation. The room looked dirty and the smell didnt help at all. The smell itself made it so uncomfortable to stay. The complimentary breakfast was not great at all, the eggs were sitting in water, they looked so gross. The property looks nice and clean from the outside but when you go into your room it doesnt match the inside of the hotel. I was left very disappointed, not at all what i expected. Theres so much staff everywhere, walking around with their clipboards and badges but does any of them bother to check the room to make sure they are up to standards. The chair in the room was ripped which makes me think how do you even clean them or disinfect them. I had to use my own blanket and put one of shirts on the pillow case because i did not trust the cleanliness of the room. Definitely disappointed, Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Some rooms are much better than others.

It is hard to rate this because we had 2 rooms and one was great the other not as nice. The great room was upstairs and had a balcony and nice view and the bathroom was located so you could turn the light on. The other was basically right on the road next to a fire station and not as nice. The people were very nice and it was nice safe place to stay that was in a very coinvent location. It was a good value for the money.

Laguna Hills Lodge is a gem. It’s a great motel that is well kept. The staff is very friendly. My son and I stayed there in May and July of 2025 while in the area for AAU hoops. Loved it.
