Upon check in we were not informed that there wouldn’t be any housekeeping services. On day 2 when we requested housekeeping on our way out for the day, we still were not informed. It wasn’t until we returned to our room after 10:00pm to message on our room phone stating that due to Covid there would be no housekeeping. The next morning on our way out we expressed our displeasure and asked for towels to be delivered to which we were told we can wait and take them to the room ourselves! We said we were leaving and would like them delivered and she then proceeded to tell us that she would hold them at the desk and we could pick them up when we return. I was absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of customer service. This woman was so rude and disrespectful and had to have the last word. You’d think that due to Covid they would want to keep the place extra clean, but that was not at all the case. Due to the lack of housekeeping the guests were putting all of their trash and dirty linens in the hallways to get it out of their rooms. Sometimes it would take all day for the staff to clean this up. If you’re going to use Covid as an excuse, don’t you think you should be cleaning the common areas like the lobby and elevators? These areas were absolutely filthy. Never once did we witness anyone cleaning the common areas or wiping down elevator buttons. The one day they did vacuum they couldn’t even be bothered to do the corners. Trash cans over flowing everywhere. Just gross.

It was very quiet. The rooms are very well insulated for noise reduction. I stepped out to go in search of the pool area, and the in the room directly across from us was a dog barking incessantly while the man and woman inside argued loudly about the dog barking! But if i went back in my room, and closed the door, I couldn't hear a thing. So it was a non issue.

Was pleasantly surprised with the price paid and value received. Very good customer service across the board. Very safe, quiet, area of Mission Viejo. Will stay again.

The worst possible bed in a nice looking hotel.

Pros: The staff is very nice.
Cons: New mattresses, bedding, pillows, etc.
Location: A few miles away is Rancho and a few miles the other direction is Foothill Ranch, but there isn't much immediately around the hotel.
The bed was like sleeping on plywood. We tossed and turned and checked out early and went to another hotel. The rooms are seemingly dated.

Weekend with family in Mission Viejo

Pros: The very beautiful and elegant decor. Very welcoming and like home.
Location: Very off the beaten path in Mission Viejo, but right on the 241 tol road which connects to all areas of Orange County.
This my second time at this hotel and it is just as nice as it was 5 years ago. I spend two night with my invalid mother here and the staff and hotel were wonderful. The front desk was most accomodating and the housekeeping staff always met our needs. Only one complaint. The queen sofa bed was not made up and I had to go to the front desk at midnight to pick up bedding. They did not deliver or make up the bed.

Stayed here Twice

Pros: Everything.
Location: Near toll road 249. Easy to get to 5 and 405 freeways. We had family nearby in Rancho Margarita and Mission Viejo.
My husband and I stayed here at Christmas 2014 and again in late January 2015. We found the staff friendly and helpful. A full breakfast buffet in the morning. Our room was clean, comfortable and quite.

This hotel was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, very clean
From the moment I entered the lobby on arrival to the point of my departure I was treated as a most honored guest. The attendant at the counter was pleasant and greeted me with a smile. My room was exactly as planned, very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the morning breakfast each of the two days I was at the hotel. This is no simple free continental breakfast. You have a couple of cooks to prepare fresh eggs to order, hot pancakes and/or waffles, bagels, English muffins, assorted cereals, assorted juices, yogurts, hot oatmeal, etc. The dining area is open outside of the breakfast period to allow for coffee and tea throughout the day. I will definitely be coming back to this Ayres Hotel in the future.
