5.0 Excellent, overall!

I was impressed with every aspect of this hotel. I caught a good deal on it, which made me a little concerned. However, all of my concerns were alleviated with a few minutes of being there. Finding it was w little challenging since there was no street address (very minor issue). Staff was extraordinarily helpful and courteous. I utilized Telepizza to order food from a menu in the room, which was delivered surprisingly within 15 minutes. The room was awesome - spacious, beautiful.

Vincci Maritimo

3.0 Good Location

Stayed at this hotel because of its location to friends who live in Barcelona, but it is only 1 block to the train, on which it is a 15 minute ride to the center of Barcelona and 2 blocks to the tram. The beach is 3 blocks away. The only problem I had was that the room was very warm -- 85 degrees when I first arrived at 4:00 p.m. It was a sunny day in April and the sun was facing my room. But the next few days were rainy and the temp never went below 79. I saw most of the rooms had their windows open -- the air was not working very well. Not sure they even had it turned on at that time. Unfortunately, every day when I left the window open, when I came back it was closed. You could not leave the air on because it was one of those hotels that you need to leave your key card in a special slot in order to make the lights and air run. I did not have breakfast in the hotel as there are many places in that area to get breakfast, coffee, or cakes. One of the best was a French Bakery three blocks away on Passeig Taulat (toward the beach off Selva de Mar) - Les Petits Plaisirs. Their Pan Chocolate and croissants were just like in Paris. The area of this hotel is not in the center of Barcelona, but is easy access to the beach and center. There is a 200 store mall a block away and a park next door. There are basketball courts, and soccer courts next door and can sometimes be noisy if you have the windows open. Twice during my 12 night stay, I was awaken by the bouncing of balls and yells at 4:45 a.m. Light stay on all night. It was quiet with the windows closed.

Hotel Barcelona Princess

5.0 Very modern beautiful hotel

This hotel was a very wonderful surprise. Very modern and clean, great views of the water and next to a mall area with lots of restaurants. Large room with king bed and plenty of storage. I regret that we were only in Barcelona and at the Princess for one night. However, if you are wanting to be in the older part of town with the beautiful historic buildings andd architecture this hotel is probably not for you.
