"I stayed at the The Ritz-Carlton, Abama with my husband and baby. On the second day of our trip, I contacted the concierge to request assistance with freezing our baby’s milk ice packs, and a member of staff came to our room to collect them. At checkout, we requested that the ice packs be returned to us. We were informed that someone would bring them down shortly, so we waited in our room for nearly an hour for an update that never came. Eventually, we went to reception ourselves, only to be told that nothing matching our description could be found in the freezer. A search was later conducted in the room service freezer, but the ice packs were still nowhere to be found. What made the experience even more frustrating was the dismissive attitude of the front desk staff. We were told that, according to their records and call logs, no calls had been made from our room that day, and we were even questioned about whether a staff member had actually come to collect the ice packs. The receptionist even showed us that there was no record or log of the request. I then requested that they review the CCTV footage near our room to confirm that a member of staff had indeed been sent to collect the items. At that point, the receptionist became noticeably quiet, especially as I had in fact called multiple times that day, including another request for an ice bucket. By this stage, we were already running late for our flight"

"Pros: * Gorgeous room with great turndown service. No notes. * Two really nice pools with good service. * Friendly staff. Cons: * Not enough staff at breakfast. Coffee sometimes arrived after breakfast was finished. Probably my biggest complaint. Just get good coffee to me quickly. Coffee machines put out dish water. Awful. * Couldn’t book restaurants. Tried booking one (non Michelin) on Monday but it was booked Tues and Wed and closed Thurs and Friday. Mostly had to eat off the property. * Staff struggled to recommend any restaurants locally “this area has all the food you’d have in your country” when asked to suggest a restaurant. * Concierge texts to say ask about anything then when you text they say they are unavailable. * The standard food (non Michelin) is inconsistent. eg Chicken burger at the pool €18 no fries. Chicken burger in room €18 with fries. No explanation. When asked they say “it’s been like that for a year”. * Beer comes in a giant wine glass with a very high center of gravity. Blows over in the wind. * They want you to always use the app to order food. If you need to ask for anything specific they will say they will call you back but don’t. Then you have to keep calling. When they turn up with room service they have ignored your request and say they can come back but are very busy. * Asked for late checkout. They said they would try and call us. They didn’t. When we asked on the last day they say they couldn’t. Would be better to either say no"
