Flying Tips & Tricks How do I find my flight number?
  • Your flight number is located in your itinerary. It's a sequence of numbers and letters, and it ought to be easily distinguishable.
How early can you check bags for a flight?
  • To have ample time to drop your luggage, clear customs and security and show up at the correct boarding gate, make your way to the airport around three hours before an international flight. If you're traveling domestically, show up around two hours before. Even if you've already chosen your seat and received your boarding pass online, it's worth bearing in mind that there are closing times for baggage check-in. It's an hour before departure for international flights, and 45 minutes if you're traveling domestically. Of course, times can vary between airlines, so it's wise to check these details ahead of time.

Great flight from DFW to Japan. Really enjoyed the Premium Economy seating on Japan Airlines.

Beside the lack of food selection, the flight overall experience is great.

JAL is highly professional.

The food was the worst I’ve ever had on any commercial flight! Tiny pieces of bread with butter and a little jelly!!?? The seats were very very uncomfortable!!

Hoping more space for reclining and clean toilets

My experience flying JAL operated by American Airlines was stressful. AA only allowed 60” packages while JAL allowed 120”. I was charged extra for oversize box that was well within JAL baggage restrictions. I’m a victim of injustice

Worst vegetarian food served

Bate and switch. I booked a JAL ticket but without disclosing at booking it was actually an AA flight. The Dream Liner must be a dream for the airlines but wit the least leg and knee space I have ever experienced. After a JAL flight from Bangkok to Tokyo, I felt cheated on the AA flight. Poorer service overall, less and poorer quality food, fewer drink offerings and a less professional staff.
