Hotels.com did not mention the pool was closed. That was a big deal as that was a big reason we picked this hotel. They didn’t charge us a resort fee but we were very disappointed and it was more trouble to change hotels.

The toilet paper is awful. It might be environmentally friendly, but it is clearly not backside friendly. Why a high end, wonderful hotel like the Ameristar doesn't break ranks with this company, Angel Soft, and treat their guests some comfort in the bathroom is beyond me. You'll get more butts in your hotel if you start treating them better. Charmin makes a difference.

The room was great, except shortage of a microwave, ice machine not working on the 16th floor - had to go to the 15th & 17th for ice. The bad thing was that the pool was closed for work.

The hotel was fantastic , truly felt very luxurious. It is the off-season and they were remodeling the pool.So we were unable to swim but they charged us no resort fees because of it being closed. The food in the restaurant was great.The gaming was pretty good.Just really enjoy our trip

Found out after checking the pool/jacuzzi are out of service (only reason I picked Ameristar) Was disrespected by casino floor identification check in. Showed identification, walked with a bad leg around lower level looking for coffee and a machine to play… was rudely approached by security and asked again for my id. I’m a cancer survivor with a medical card which I accidentally gave the woman upstairs and was allowed to enter without her or I realizing it was not the Florida drivers license I gave her but my medical card. Her excuse was she was busy… she was not at all busy, it’s 8am in a casino. I walked away and will not be back.
