Location was great. Peaceful area with quick access to downtown. Everything was clean. Fresh fruit breakfast everyday. Overall great experience.

This is a great location with a beautiful view, and convenient to town for restaurants and shopping. Our room was clean and inviting. The pool was a welcome feature. In fact, during our stay we canceled something we intended to do in favor of a relaxing afternoon at the pool. It’s also fun to watch all the surfers at the nearby beach from the house. The daily fruit and light breakfast items were a nice touch and greatly appreciated. One note -- the driveway is steep and getting out can be a challenge to negotiate for larger vehicles. We would definitely love to stay here again!

The property was in a beautiful spot on the Hamakua Coast - very close to Hilo and to Angel Farms. The room was clean, the breakfast fruit was fresh and perfect, the bed was very comfortable and everything was very easy. Loved the pool as well - the only thing missing was a jacuzzi!! :) Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect holiday retreat

Hale Kai is simple but has all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The views were beautiful from the lanai and the pool with ocean view was an added bonus. It is the perfect location to explore Hilo.

Modest accommodation with outstanding views

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rooms themselves are very simple but incredibly clean and comfortable. The massive lanai that wraps around the building connecting each room was the highlight of our stay - we ate our meals out there watching the waves and the surfers nearby. The sunrises here are unreal - and being able to watch them from in the cozy king sized bed made them all the better. The breakfast was modest but delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The property is quiet and very private. Absolutely would stay here again and again.

Views for days!

My husband and I love the location of this rental and have stayed here twice. We always enjoy the daily breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit and the relaxing sounds of the waves. The pool was lovely and secluded. Definitely will stay here again.

Quaint beautiful views - Nice and Relaxing

Property is great, you can hear the ocean, great views, tucked back in a little neighborhood that is close to all the Hilo town activities. Great home base for Volcano exploring and other Hilo activities.

Love this place! Made our Hilo stay absolutely amazing!

We arrived late but the location is amazing, only about 5-10 mins drive to Hilo downtown but the best part is the ocean view in the morning when you have your breakfast. The included breakfast was really good (egg, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastry) and the location was quiet so you can fall asleep to the wave sounds.

B&B at it's best

This is our first B&B and we were very impressed. Great fresh breakfast provided every morning. Beautiful surroundings and sunrise. Not too far from town and excursions. We highly recommend this place and our wonderful host who was always available when needed.

Quiet, beautiful, home base to explore the Hilo area

My wife and I spent three nights in the Moana Room as we explored the Hilo area and it was perfect for our needs. The room was spacious and clean and boasts an amazing view overlooking Hilo Bay. We made use of the pool and hot tub and loved listening to the crashing waves below while drifting off to sleep.

Very enjoyable

We really enjoyed our stay. Being right on the ocean with the beautiful garden out front and a bistro table to enjoy meals on was a favorite aspect. It was easy to find and good location from town. Wonderful fresh fruit daily. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful, Relaxing getaway

This property was perfect for a quiet getaway on the ocean. We saw whales from out patio every day. The pool and hot tub were lovely. The bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast delivered each day. What more could you ask for?!

Great space next to the ocean

We had a nice stay at this space. The only cons were the hot tub didn't work, and our door wouldn't lock from the outside with the key provided, but the space was secluded and we felt very safe despite. We would certainly stay in this beautiful space again. Mahalo!
