"Loved the little extras like a cookie or doggie treat and a water bottle always available in the lobby."

Hotel Cashiers
"A small 1 level hotel which is family run and you could definitely tell the difference. What a wonderful visit. First, I called and spoke with Steve (owner) and advised that we would be late checking in. He advised that was not a problem as I would get an email with room number and code to access ..."

"Views to die for. Mid century modern mountain magic. Magnificenct restaurant with fabulous staff. But that’s where it ends. There was housekeeping equipment left Around, doors open to the housekeeping closet, unsightly messes around from a special dinner. An unusable, unopened Butler’s Bar that had ..."

Colonial Inn Franklin
"My room was clean and quiet and had a very comfortable bed. Parking was plentiful and close to my room. Unfortunately the Wi Fi was out the entire four days of my stay; at least, I couldn’t get the TV to work. I also wish they had hand towels to use by the sink. They only supply small bath towels ..."

The Skyline Lodge
"I would stay here again! We booked a last minute room for two week nights. Pleasant reception and attention by Baden! We bought a bottle of lovely white wine and a couple of beers from the nice selection in the lobby. Two stemmed wine glasses were in the sitting area of our room which had a large balcony with sliding screen door, chairs and a table where we could hear the "Big Creek" run. Lovely grounds, courtyard with fun toys which was kept tidy, and The Oak restaurant where we dined on our first evening, thanks to nabbing one of two later dinner reservations. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the stylish comfy lounge where we had a great conversation with another couple, then were delivered to our table early for an upscale dinner with top notch service. Having said that, there were some hiccups which we informed upon checkout; concern was shown and notes were taken. 1) We did not want for hot water on demand. While the shower had nice hardware (hand held included) it was neary impossible to find a non-scalding temperature. The sink faucet handles were loose so water would not flow unless the bases were held while turning the handles. 2) Front desk replaced the battery in the electric fireplace remote, but it still would not turn on. 3) We had to dispatch several insects in the bathroom (well, we were in the forest) and 4) the structure is older, so folks walking in the room above our bed sounded as though they might fall through. Even so, I adore this lodge!"
