We enjoyed the location and the size of the hotel. They only have 11 rooms total and it feels like you are just home with staff. Love the antiques and how relaxing the hotel is.

Home Away from Home

I can't say enough good things about the Villa Ganz. This is now my home away from home in Guadalajara. You feel like you're staying at the home of a wealthy family member with great taste in interior design and terrific staff who anticipate your every need. You can spend afternoons in the garden with the hotel's resident cat, or playing the piano in the sitting room. There's refreshments in the lobby all day, which converts to wine in the evenings. Need to set up a tour? Want to dinner reservation? Need to print out a contract or a boarding pass? No problem. You'll feel very well taken care of. I'll be back to Guadalajara and back to Villa Ganz.

always excellent, friendly service

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, free parking
4 stays at the Villa Ganz and never disappointed. Extremely roomy, clean rooms with excellent service. Beautiful setting in an excellent neighborhood close to many of GDLs sites and nightlife. Delicious breakfast; free parking and wi-fi make this a great choice in the upper end of stays in GDL. Thumbs up.

Villa Ganz is excellent

We so much enjoyed out week's stay at Villa Ganz. We'd never been there before so we were hopeful it would be as nice as the website made it look. Well, it was much better than we expected. We loved our room. The room was nicely decorated and had a comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. The hotel is quiet and we slept well every night and during afternoon naps. The hotel grounds are beautiful, quiet and calming. We sat in the garden every morning for breakfast and enjoyed the comfortable, candlelit patio in the evenings. Our days included walks to the theater and shopping areas. When we'd return we received a refreshing glass of fresh juice in the afternoons, or a glass of wine and food morsels in the evening. The last thing I'd like to share is how wonderful the staff is. When we had questions about a theater event or a restaurant they gave us their recommendations and then made reservations for us and arranged a taxi too. They even sent someone out to the theater to pick up our tickets for the evening's concert. It was all so easy, relaxing and fun. Although the vacation is over and it's been back to work for a week, it makes me smile to think back on what a great time we had.

Destination: Sanctuary Away From Home

Our stay in this small suite and garden hotel the the zona rosa of Guadalajara was both memorable and marvelous. The hotel has only 9 rooms because it is an antique grand villa turned bed and breakfast on steroids. From the greeting until we left 3 days later, each member of the staff was like our own personal servant and concierge. The owner, S B, became our friend. They welcome you with a drink of tequila or fresh juice. They cook to your order whenever you get up or whenever you want so long as the cook is there during the day and early evening and the night manager will cook for you at 4:00 am after you return from the nightclubs if you wish. Your room is furnished with candles, as well as the usual electrical fixtures and the staff will furnish you with additional candles to turn your boudoir into a romantic scene from a movie. Your wish is their command. Our room opened up onto an interior garden that is lush with a fountain, statuary, hummingbirds, butterflies, luminaries at night and churchbells. The dining room is covered patio with fireplace that overlooks the gardens as well. When discussing our plans for the stay, S remembered that the Ballet Folklorico was performing Saturday night at the historic Teatro downtown and the staff arranged for the purchase of orchestra center tickets, reminded us about the time of the performance, and had a taxi waiting. The theater was the highlight of our trip. I would never stay anywhere else in Guadalajara and wish I knew of such a hotel in every city I visit. Infact, we may go back to Guadalajara just to stay in this hotel.
