"I was really looking forward to this trip to Nishiyama Onsen. The hot water springs were amazing the staff not so accommodating. Lots of bowing and thank yous but no real assistance. We requested soy sauce with our appetizer and they said no and wouldn't bring it. Check in is 3PM and check out is 10 AM. It's a rather expensive undertaking considering that the property is quite remote. I really wanted to stay there because of the history, the oldest continuously inhabited hotel in the world. Sadly I was put in the newer rooms so I didn't really get that experience. They practically kick you out at 10:00AM, I was organizing my luggage and the desk clerk approached me and barked, you have to settle your bill, as if I would try and leave without paying. They weren't even prepared I had to wait while they added up all the charges. I have never been treated so poorly anywhere else in the world."
