Disappointed that the reclining chairs were removed from the rooms. A person in my party sleeps in a chair and not in a bed. I booked the room because Fairfield was a hotel that had a reclining chair in the room on our last stay. May not stay again because of the chair not being in the room.

Very disappointed

Pros: The woman working in the breakfast area was a delight. She was very accommodating and attentive
Cons: Cleanliness Customer relations.....
Location: The location was in a mall so there were many choices for dinner close by
When I arrived to check in, the woman at the counter was on the phone. I thought she was taking a reservation and didn't mind. After 10 minutes, and another guest lining up behind me...I realized she was not talking about reservations but something totally unconnected. When she finally addressed me, there was an issue with my reservation...even though I called the day before to check and make sure all was in order. I had made my reservation through a third party online and it was paid for. I was asked for an identification and a credit card. I questioned the need for the CC and she said for incidentals. I assured her there wouldn't be any and that I did not want to give her my card. She insisted and got a bit hostile. When I finally got to my room, on first glance it seemed fine and after a long day I just wanted to rest. Lying in bed, an item fell between the nightstand and the bed and when I reached down to retrieve it, there was a discarded grape stem on the floor, the area behind the night stand looked like it had never been cleaned and the bed skirt, I don't even want to imagine what was distributed on that. The metal boarder under the heater was not in place. I was appalling. If I had not gone through such a problem checking in I would have demanded another room. At check out when I was asked how my stay was, I shared these views and was told sorry. I was not satisfied and I will be hard pressed to stay in another Fairfield or to recommend the hotel.

It is standard procedure to require ID and a credit card during check in, in case of any incidentals - which could be anything from phone charges to room damages. However, I do apologize that this was an inconvenience and that it was not explained in greater detail. We appreciate your patronage and assure you that what you experienced was certainly not the norm for our hotel. Within walking distance of a shopping mall

My ONLY complaint is that I put my do not disturb sign on my door and the next morning, someone was knocking at my door. It was the hotel staff. They knocked twice before I. Finally got up and answered it the third time and told them that I did not need anything. I went away to get some rest. Other than that, very nice hotel

nice place

the hotel was very nice the loby was clean and the staff were nice the rooms were a little out of date there was very old tv but comftrable and clean.the pool was good but very cold but the hot tube was nice. great stay but no eggs at brekfast just pastres and bread and no gym.

Convenient hotel

We were in Erie to shop at the adjacent Millcreek mall. The hotel was clean,the staff friendly and the room met our expectations,although the mattresses were softer than we're used to.As well, there was no night light,but we had brought our own. However, the continental breakfast in the morning did not compare to the type we had found at the Hampton Inns. There is a "do-it-yourself" waffle maker but the mix was watery resulting in barely-edible waffles,the bagels were small and hard to cut with a plastic knife.The breakfast concept should be reviewed,in my opinion. Would we stay there again? Possibly.

Short Stay

The Fairfield was conveniently located to the beach, the casino, the wine country, and the marine museum -- our four targets for a short stay. It is also in a large mall with many moderate family restuarants, if those fit your needs. It was comfortable and clean, with a free breakfast, including the trademark Marriott do-it-yourself waffles.

Worst staff in PA

First we arrived, we were greeted by a very rude and load girl at the front desk. I said I had reservations and she started to check us in asking for the c.c i used to hold the room, i said i want to pay cash and sh said thats not the point sir we have to charge you this * fee incase you smoke in the room(this is the only hotel in america that does this, so finally we get to the room which i might add looked as if it had not been cleaned, the trash cans had trash in them and the beds looked as if a 4 year old had made them, urine in the toliet and no clean towels or soap, and to top this there were like 1 million ants in the tub. I went down stairs and ask for a diffrent room and was told off by the woman behing the counter stating that none of there high class rooms look this way! I wanted to speak to the manager and the manager was even more rude. I will be telling everyone i know how crappy this dump is and would never stay at any marriot brand hotel again, its Hilton for me now!!!

The hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable; however, there was a lot of people for breakfast and not enough food for everyone. The staff started to restock but seem to give up."
