Never again

There was not hot water, the toilet didn't flush properly, the comforter on bed was dirty, the remote for tv didn't work, there was cobwebs in corners, also the parking lot wasn't plowed even though a plow truck sat at the front door. Because of not plowing I feel and cracked my ribs. I would never stay there again. We were only given a new comforter, they male front desk was rude when I told him the problems then hung up on me.

Not what the pictures make it seem

This was not the best stay, it's very old and outdated. Had to get febreeze and spray the room down, it smelled old and musty. Room was clean but not in good condition. Bed side lights did not work, switch was broken. And the staff wasn't nice.

Run Away!!

The building looked like an institution from the outside. Our first thought was to just call and cancel but we knew there were not many rooms available because we had tried many. Hotel staff was pleasant enough but the room was somewhere you would not care to be, It did appear clean, on inspecton (yes I inspected) but but just appeared "seedy". The room and hotel needs major " facelift". Definately an experience I would not like to repeat. You should check it out for yourself and see if you would send people there.

Ugghhhh

My husband and I were on our way home from Maine for a vacation and stopped in Erie, PA for the night ONLY because it was getting late and I didn't want to drive anymore! The hotels along the interstate were filled up because of a hockey tournament or something, so I hacked off some wifi in a parking lot and found this hotel. They had a room open so downtown we went. Good thing we arrived in the dark because Erie was a bit of a dirty city. I NEVER write hotel reviews, but this one was so gross I just had to write a WARNING to NEVER stay there! I am never one for gross carpet, but I was afraid to walk on the carpet without shoes on. The bathroom looked like it needed to be condemmed. We ordered take out food and a 2 liter of pop and went to get cups and big suprise, there were no cups! I went to hand my husband a hand towel to use for a napkin (because there were no tissues) and they all had stains on them. That this point all I could so was laugh! During the night I kept thinking all of the drunks were going to break into my car (thank goodness they didn't!) and when I woke up and packed up my things and looked down and saw a HUGE stain on the boxspring part of the bed. Needless to say we got the "Heck out of dodge!" We skipped the free breakfast because I was to scared as to what that would be! My husband then went in to check out and after many attempts to find a human, my husband left the key and walked out. After reading a post from another reviewer, I'm going to make sure to check my credit card statement! Once again NEVER NEVER NEVER stay at the Downtown Erie Hotel!!

HORRIBLE!!!

Last time I stayed here was 1 night in January of this past year at the time this is what was wrong; Elvevator STILL did not work. - It's been broken for the past 2 years. Mold - Bathrooms were still moldy - to the point that I would not take a shower there. Corridors - More than half the lights in the walksways were out. the corridor are on the oustide of the building and more then half the windows are missing. Ice machines - Only one that worked was on the top floor.(Remember the elevator is still broken) It's not even worth the $* that they now charge, it used to be $*. But the cost and the central location have to be the only reasons for a good reveiw. Either that or these people are used to staying in rat traps. I will jsut pay the $* extra and go the Avalon on 10th street when I'm home next month.

Disgusting

This hotel is horrible. As soon as I walked into my room I saw a wad of shewed-up blue bubble gum stuck to the wall, and the bathroom shower was not only covered in mold and mildew, but had several hairs left behind from the previous guest. The room smelled bad, was loud at night, and didn't feel even remotely safe. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
