I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean, the front desk assistant was very polite and helpful. I wish I could remember his name to thank him properly he helped myself and mother to our room. I had my infant son in hand he hopped in effortlessly to assistance. Along with a kind warm welcome.

Hotel was nice enough, area was decent (Lucky Burger was solid). BUT I was very surprised by how much I could hear people next door and above me. Footsteps above were most surprising. But lots of sound from other rooms (woken up to someone else’s 4:30am alarm somewhere on my floor both mornings). Makes for an unpleasant stay.

The Home2 by Hilton near Drake University was a great place to stay. It was within walking distance to everything we needed, was clean, quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking in the lot, too. Thumbs up.

Room and facilities were very clean and well kept. I thought the hotel must be fairly new because of its condition. Asked the desk clerk how old the hotel was and she replied”5 years”. Good job!

Construction noise, dirty mattresses, abuse...

Pros: -Most of the staff was very nice -Property was nice Cons: -First room, the couch reeked of cat urine so we were moved and the room was properly cleaned -Second room, construction outside started at 6 AM and made it impossible to sleep -My mattress was covered in sweat stains which was disgusting and there was a small amount of visible mold in the bathroom -Biggest problem: Tara (sp) stopped my college-aged son, interrogated him about our last name, our room number, asked if he was supposed to be on the property. We'd been there for nearly a week. The front desk attendant and GM knew who we were but Tara chased my son down and made him answer security questions in the open lobby near workers and whoever else was around. He was embarrassed, and I was shocked with how she handled forcing him to disclose private information in public. When I asked her about it, she got extremely defensive and said "I'm sorry you got offended."... We are traveling for our family business and will be in town for a few more weeks, but we chose to spend the three weeks at a hotel where our privacy and security won't be compromised.
I truly hope this is just sweat stains.
