The fare is initially low but then $36 for checked bag and $26 for priority boarding to guarantee place for carry on. But the flight left and arrived on time and my bag arrived quickly.

FAQs about Sorrento Flights

What airport is best to fly into Sorrento?

Sorrento has only one airport. You'll be stepping off the plane at Naples Airport (NAP-Naples Intl.), located 19 miles (30 kilometers) from the center of the city.

Where to stay in Sorrento

Studied up on Sorrento, picked out your vacation outfits but haven't yet booked your accommodations? Travelocity is here to help. Select from 711 centrally located properties and start packing those bags!

You're on vacation! It's the best time to splurge on life's little luxuries. Book a room at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria or the Hotel Palazzo Guardati and enjoy excellent service and a decadent room. That said, you don't go on vacation to stay in your room all week. If you're after a cheaper option, consider the La Magnolia Hotel Sorrento or the Casale Nunziatina.

Places to visit in Sorrento

If you're considering staying in this bustling metropolis, you'll want to add Church of Santa Maria Assunta to your must-see list. It's one of the most significant attractions in the area.

You'll want to see Piazza Tasso, a historic public square that attracts tourists and locals alike. Want some more options? You ought to stop by Chiesa di San Francesco. Although this local place of worship is often visited by tourists, you need to find out the rules for visiting if you'd like to spend time inside this peaceful building. But there's more. Delight in the wide variety of artistic creations at Museo Correale di Terranova. This esteemed art museum is a lovely place to pass a morning.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Sorrento

Make your journey to Sorrento a little easier by following these helpful security tips:

  • Airport security staff will request to see your boarding pass and passport as part of their checks. Have them in an accessible place, so they're all ready for inspection.
  • Wallets, USB sticks and keys must be placed in a tub for X-raying. If you walk into the body scanner with any of these items, you'll be turned back and instructed to remove them.
  • All laptops need to be taken out of their carry bags and placed in a tray before being scanned.
  • When you get to the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to place all liquids, gels and creams in a separate tub for inspection. Make sure they're all stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • The airport security may ask you to take off your shoes prior to entering the body scanner. Pick a pair that you can take off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do up your laces over and over again.
  • Stash any pocketknives or other sharp and pointy items inside your checked luggage. Security won't allow these in carry-on baggage.

Flights To Sorrento

Italy's most iconic resort town, Sorrento is a bustling beauty built on the side of a dramatic cliff, overlooking the clear, cerulean waters of the Mediterranean and the imposing Mount Vesuvius. Sorrento flights feature captivating views of the volcano, the sea, and fields of the region's famous citrus trees. Since there is no way to fly to Sorrento directly, you'll have to arrive at the nearby Naples International Airport (NAP)—about an hour away from the village itself.

Transportation from NAP

Though there is no way to fly into the seaside gem itself, many Sorrento hotels will provide shuttle service to and from NAP. If your hotel doesn't, there are always taxis available, and it's easy to rent a car. Additionally, there are several buses that you can catch periodically outside the arrival gates, and at least six trips per day are made by buses between the Naples airport and Sorrento. Alternatively, though it can be a bit difficult with lots of luggage, public transportation is actually a fantastic option because it involves a fun and scenic ferry ride across the Bay of Naples. Simply take a bus toward Acton-beverello or a short cab ride to Napoli Beverello, where you can then catch the Napoli Beverello–Sorrento ferry. It will cross the bay in about 45 minutes, and you can enjoy prime views of gorgeous cliffside homes on one side and Mount Vesuvius on the other.

Immerse Yourself in Sublime Sorrento

Sorrento may be a luxurious resort destination, but that doesn't mean that cheap airfare can't be found. Search Travelocity for the best deals on tickets and flights to Sorrento and Sorrento vacation bundles. Save your money to spend in the town's celebrated shops—known for their unique wares—and to stock up on the region's top product: limoncello. Benefit from our price guarantee; we will match any lower price and refund you the difference.
