If you were on the fence about booking this property, do yourself a favor and book it! I cannot say enough about how amazing, helpful, and friendly, the staff was at this hotel! The breakfast included with your room is nothing short of amazing! The hotel is in close proximity to Shopping, churches, etc. The hotel is very clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job keeping our room clean. You can’t go wrong booking this hotel!

The worse experience in my 8 days 5 city tour of Italy. My room terrace was literally 10 feet away from a tenement building with a whole bunch of sheets and clothes hanging to dry from their balcony! The worse that happened was when I was talking on my cell in the terrace of the room around midnight - on a Friday! - and this man shouted out his window of his apartment to shut up and that he was trying to sleep. This is a hotel where I was paying US $400 a night! The Front Desk was not that informative. When I asked for a car/driver to take us to Positano, I was told that I needed to reserve it at least 2 days in advance! Was never told that when I registered. The only good thing was our housekeeper and the spa.

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel de la Ville. The staff were excellent, reception tea, helped me organise transfers and some great excursions. Dining and bar staff also very attentive. Good location.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. It is a very traditional Italian style hotel, with beautifully tiled floors and marketry furniture (that is everywhere in Sorrento). Its location is a short 10 min stroll to the centre of town, and only 5 mins from the train station. Our room was beautiful and overlooked the bay and Mt Vesuvius (room 507). The bed was super comfortable, the aircon an absolute pleasure and the blackout blinds did their job too well! We would happily recommend the Grand Hotel De La Ville.

Such a phenomenal stay, going to a place like this makes me question why there's tipping in the US when coming here made us feel like royalty. The staff is ready to provide and are super friendly. No one made you feel odd for requests that aren't their cultural norm--like how you order your coffee. The breakfast was so fast, service provided even though it's technically self serve, and many options are available. It was awesome to save money for this meal and to have it at our stay. The hotel is beautiful; the only thing I wish was different is if the pool was temp controlled? You guys have to try the Sweet life drink, one of their staff Michele created this and it's awesome, particularly when made in the lobby bar. Short walking distance to town and they can arrange transportation if needed. The street food is so good and affordable compared to sitting in the instagram famous bars. Sorrento was such a great choice over Amalfi, Positano, or capri. Everything is accessible to do short excursions over if you're having trouble deciding. It's clean, an amazing price, and we had an amazing stay here.

We loved this hotel! Beautiful rooms with a beautiful view. Very comfortable beds! The breakfast buffet was amazing. The staff were all very helpful. The rooftop bar was always empty with such a great view of the water! My husband used the gym once and both pools were great too. The hotel was a 10 minute walk to the heart of Sorrento and all of the amazing restaurants and the port. I would definitely stay there again!
