Flying into the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) is an excellent way to begin your Central American adventure.

Transportation from LIR

When your Liberia flight lands, there are a few ways to begin exploring the region. Liberia airport shuttles meet all arriving passengers at the curb, ready to take you to your hotel. While the shuttles are convenient, you should make a reservation in advance. Local taxis are also available at the curb around the clock. All taxis at the Liberia Airport are 4-door sedans, so if you have a large party, the shuttle may be your best bet. When you would rather use public transportation, buses run every hour between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. between the airport and local neighborhoods. Of course, you can always get your hands on a private car. Just rent a vehicle at one of the rental car agencies located inside the airport arrivals terminal. With your own wheels it’s easy to get to Playa del Coco whenever you want, or take a day trip to Nicaragua before retiring at one of the hotels close to Daniel Oduber International Airport.
