Flights To Budapest

Do you want to enjoy some old world charm on your next vacation? Head over to beautiful Budapest for a unique vacation full of history, culture, and art! Hungary's capital City, Budapest is easily accessible from the Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD). Budapest is the cultural and political center of the nation and offers a tremendous variety of museums, historical sites, and cultural opportunities for a fun and educational vacation.

Transportation from BUD

You can find more than enough high-quality hotels close to Ferenc Liszt International. Traveling to downtown from the airport is easy on Budapest's well-developed public transportation system. You can rely on that system for nearly all the major tourist destinations.

Once in the city, plan your walking tours to take in all the sites. The city is actually two different ones: Buda and Pest. Enjoy the Castle District in historic Buda by venturing across the world-famous Szechenyi Chain Bridge. Spend the day strolling through this beautiful, ancient castle. The top of Buda Hill is accessible by the "funicular," a trolley car that will quickly (and cheaply) bring you to the top of the hill for stunning views of the entire city. End your day with a stop at one of Budapest's many wonderful restaurants or with a night at one of the city's dozens of theaters and performing arts venues.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Budapest

Your journey to Budapest begins the minute you've completed all the security checks. We've compiled a list of helpful tips and hints to make sure you pass through quickly:

  • Security staff will request to see your boarding pass and travel ID at the checkpoint. Have them in a convenient place, so they're all ready for inspection.
  • You'll have to put your tunes on pause for a short while. Headphones need to be taken off and put in a tray for X-raying. The same applies to items such as heavy jackets and belts.
  • Ensure your phone, laptop and other electronic devices are within reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine in separate bins.
  • When you approach the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to put all liquids, gels and creams in a separate bin for inspection. Make sure they're all stored in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Hiking footwear and other bulky shoes are usually X-rayed by airport security. It might be wise to wear lightweight sneakers instead.
  • Scissors and multi-tools are not permitted on board the plane. Tuck them away in your checked luggage to avoid forfeiting them at the airport security checkpoint.
