Stroan - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
"The property is very well-appointed and comfortable. The location is a bit more remote than we anticipated and a car is a necessity.Very limited facilities in the village although the community shop had a wide and comprehensive stock."

The Ship Inn
"When we arrived at the hotel it didn't look anything special from the outside. On entering into the small reception we received a very warm welcome and given some local information. "Whilst all staff were unfailingly helpful, in my three engagements with various reception staff, who always dealt with my queries, never once did anyone there smile at me, make a spontaneous comment, or ask about me. "Individual styled place -what it lacks in modern finesse(if that’s your thing ) it makes up a hundred times in charm and location -add the fabulous staff -we loved it !"

"Whilst all staff were unfailingly helpful, in my three engagements with various reception staff, who always dealt with my queries, never once did anyone there smile at me, make a spontaneous comment, or ask about me. It was not just in dealing with me. I watched engagement with others, whilst I waited,l or passed to outside. Mostly they SAT and concentrated on their screen. Standing staff somehow seem to look at you more. There is a failure in successful engagement here, which, to my mind, undermines the undoubted efficiency of the service. It hints at a lack of any deep sense of the benefit of true hospitality. I make this comment, not so much to be critical, but because everything else in our stay was so enjoyable, that it stuck a jarring note."
