Perfect Place for an easy, relaxing getaway!

Pros: Even though it was fully booked it never felt crowded. The staff to guest ratio really helps this feeling. Again the food was fantastic.
Cons: There were a few tiny things in the rooms that need to be looked at, but general maintenance was good.
Location: It is far removed from the town itself, but we loved that about the place. Quite, relaxing, wonderful!
Where do I even start?? My boyfriend and I came here on a recommendation from another friend who stayed. And it was all that she said and more. The food is absolutely wonderful. We were both all-inclusive virgins and were nervous it would be some gross constant flow of buffet food. So not the case! You can order in your room, by the pool or at the restaurants and everything was delish! And drinks were included as well, so you could sit lazily by the pool and the wonderful staff will come by and check on you and bring you whatever you want (no judgement just smiles!). When we got there the hot tub in our room didn't work but the staff moved us to another room the next day with an awesome hot tub we used every night. If you want a party experience in Mexico don't come here - if you just want to chill and relax and have no worries, come here. We paid a few tips along the way just because the service was so good, but really once you paid you spend no money. They even feed us one last meal after week checked out!

Wonderful staff and location-

Pros: See above.
Cons: Hot tub did not work well- controls completely inactive. Was not clean - film on bottom and sides, sand in bottom Shower very poor Rain leaked in
Location: I don't understand whey a company the size of AMR would allow these things to diminish the quality of experience that the staff provides so well
We just spent 6 nights at Villa Rolandi. The staff was as good as it gets - virtualy all knew us by name by the second night there and you could not ask for better friendliness courtesy and professionalism. Kudos to management for hiring and training such wonderful people! The overall location and design of the hotel is also top notch. Only 35 rooms with three pools and a small private beach.Located only a $7 cab ride from town but miles away from the towns noise and bustle is a wonderful factor. The private yacht to arrive and depart frames your vacation beautifully. The rooms all have a superb view, the higher you get, the better the view. We started on the second floor and they were nice enough to move us to the third the second night. Large bedroom with nice seating area good sized bathroom in beautiful marble with two sinks - stocked minibar and lots of bottled water- All very nice. Two restaurants - both excellent food give you plenty of options, snacks around pool and drinks everywhere superbly done. A real treat - we struggled to maintain an appetite- we were just totally satiated most of the time- probably should have spent time in the gym, we were too busy relaxing eating and drinking.

Proceed with Caution

Went to Isla Mujeres last week and the weather was absolutely horrible. Constant rain, thunder and overcast conditions. As a result, called the "vacation" short by four days. Even though occupancy was around 30%, the hotel not only refused to not charge me for the four days, they also refused to give me any credit whatsoever for any future visit. The people at reception could not have cared less. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Proceed with caution.

Peaceful Stay

Cons: american breakfast consists of only egg selections
Beautiful hotel, beach and pools. Nice staff and grounds. No kids, quiet and peaceful. Ocean was beautiful. Nice tours at a reasonable price.

Beautiful!

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: bad bed
My husband and I stayed their last year because our friend had recommended it and I have to say for such a gorgeous place I'm shocked that their beds are so uncomforable??? The staff, the food and the ambiance was perfect but the bed needs help! It was rock hard, with NO top sheet and a heavy down comforter? I was expecting a top sheet and a cotton blanket. Pillows were huge and very hard. Luckily I found one in the closet that wasn't so bad. I hope this changes because we love it there.

I loved this hotel!

Pros: Free Internet
My sister and I went for a long weekend to escape nasty February weather in the northeastern US. We found a beautiful little private beach, an excellent and reasonably-priced restaurant, extremely clean rooms, and wonderful staff! Irma and Adriana in the spa both do great massages. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Beyond Expectations!!!!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Villa Rolandi Thalasso SPA far exceeded my expectations. I had reviewed prior trip reports but had not expected the quality that we received. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome with detail of our room, enjoyed a dip in our own private jacuzzi, then dined in their wonderful restaurant. Food was expensive but well worth it. Would recommend to ANYONE!!!

Impeccable!

We had the pleasure of visiting the Villa Rolandi last weekend when our flight home was cancelled and we needed to stay an extra day on Isla Mujeres. From the minute we checked in ( mimosas and bloody marys offered), our tour of the facilities and personal escort to our room, to the wonderful zero-edge pool, poolside service and meals, we couldn't have asked for anything better. The four-course American breakfast that was included skimped on nothing the next morning and the private yacht service (also included) back to Cancun exceeded any expectations we had and made our last day of vacation the cherry on top! This property is beautifully manicured and maintained, the pools and hot tubs are pristine, the beach is powdered-sugar white and the staff is extremely pleasant! I can't wait to return!

Great Hotel

My wife and visited Villa Rolandi Feb 10 and had a great time. We loved the optional lunch or dinner which was included in the package along with the contentintal breakfast delivered to your room. My wife is VERY paticular on what she eats and she loved the food. If you are looking for a quite vacation without the distractions this is the place. We rented a golf cart and had a great time driving around the island. The only negative aspect of our stay was the uncomforable bed.

so close yet so far

Isla is so close by plane and Villa Rolandi seems like a bit of Europe, so for a quick get-a-way, this is an ideal location. The staff are very attentive and friendly, the rooms spacious and stylishly decorated. Breakfast is delivered each morning so you can enjoy a peaceful time on the deck overlooking the sea. The open air restaurant serves delicious Italian meals and seems to be a favorite for others on the island. An added benefit is the catamaran ride from Cancun--always nice to arrive to your destination by boat to stretch your vacation time.
