Stayed 4 nights. Each of the first 3 nights upon returning from sight seeing, my key failed to work. It wasn't demagnetized, it was only coded for 1 night each time. Instead of checking, the front desk person would assume I had somehow demagnetized the card and would just recode it...for one night again. On day 3, my toilet backed up. I called to the front desk and asked for someone to check it while I was out for the day. Upon returning, nobody had checked it. I again called the front desk and they offered to get me a new room as they didn't have anyone to perform maintenance. I informed them I'd rather not pack and switch rooms, that if they had a plunger I would fix it myself. They brought me a plunger and I fixed it. Obviously I don't feel I would stay here again.

I would have given the staff a 5 Star (front desk was excellent), however there was a mix up with the shuttle. The driver showed up in a black van, was told white. The outside of the van read “Spring Hill Suites”. In very small lettering of 4 listed hotels on a magnetic sign read The Garden Place Hotel. The driver never got out and announced that he was with The Garden Place Hotel. We had called the hotel when we landed at the airport requesting the shuttle. So the driver knew people were waiting at the airport pickup location, as was one other passenger that had contacted the hotel as well. Ultimately the three of us waited over 45 minutes to actually be picked up.

No so pleased

Needs a good cleaning and paint. Also carpets need to be stretched, they are a tripping hazard. Never cleaned or resupplied coffee during stay. So no fresh towels or wash clothes. They do not supply shampoo or soap for showering like most places. Smelled like weed so bad it was making me sick, i had to try and place towels around the door and push chairs against it to try and cover the visible gaps the smell was coming in.

The room was clean, not the hall way and stairway, the wall paper was falling off and black mold was shown. There was no elevator to 3rd floor. the side door was not secured (anyone could enter the building through the side door.

The Garden Place has a great deal of old world ambiance found in Italy. The hall ways and carpets look rough, but the rooms are large and comfortable. The beds are comfortable with fresh clean linens. The bathroom is well stocked with fresh,fluffy white towels. The shower has an adjustable temperature , ao you can select your comfort level. I do miss not having the made to order complementary breakfast items, and the early morning coffee service open to all hotel guests which was ready at 6:00am. I miss those added touches of hospitality.

Price is right

This was always THE place to go but for some reason they decided to build new instead of remodeling this hotel. Some rooms have been updated and we received one. The only fault I could find was they kept the old low toilets and didn’t replace the carpet. The hotel needs new carpet thru out, it’s really bad. Our bathroom had a huge walk in shower, sink was in bedroom. The room was large with sofa and coffee pot. Mattress was very soft. Breakfast was alacarte, separate prices, mostly sandwiches and espresso, serve yourself. We went out.

Had a very pleasant stay! The style of the hotel was very different and interesting. It was pretty neat to sit in the "indoor" courtyard while eating. The fish in the aquarium were beautiful. Staff were all super friendly! There was ice cold lemon water available all day/night in the lobby. I booked this room blindly only looking at photos and a few reviews- some of the reviews were iffy. Overall I am glad I booked. The room- clean, plenty of supplies. A few lower comments- Furniture a bit older, could use some cosmetic repair but overall ok. The jacuzzi tub is also older, jets could use new divertors but worked and was relaxing. Bed- ok. A little springy but comfortable enough to sleep. We were on the first floor, parking lot side- no noise which is a positive. The cafe breakfast was nice, good prices. The exterior- also interesting. I would definitely stay here again and plan to when we return to Niagra in the future- only a 30 min drive. Three positives- hotel staff, cleanliness and different in the interesting category.

This hotel was very fancy looking inside and out. I loved the hallway and staircase. The staff was friendly. Room was clean. Beds and pillows were vey comfortable. Only problem i had was the coffee maker in the room didnt work and the air conditioner wasnt cooling down the room so we had to sleep with the window open with no screen.
