Nightmare to a dream

Pros: Their hospitality
Location: Bend Oregon. Lots of hiking, shopping and outdoor experiences!
To start...our seating on our flights we're all messed up...our seats were not together and it was my kids first time flying. Thankfully Alaska was able to fix it. As we arrived at the double tree (at 1:30am) beat tired from all the flying...we were told our hotel reservations somehow got cancelled and no rooms were available. DT was able to find a nearby hotel and put us up for the night until they can make the necessarily arrangements the following morning. DT managed to get us a room at their hotel for the remainder of our vacation. They also paid for the other hotel we stayed at as well. DT provided us with free breakfast and drinks during our stay. The staff at DT went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Each time my family entered or exited the lobby I was greeted as "Hello Mr. Wilson" or " Have a nice day Mr. Wilson." Our first family vacation began as a nightmare but ended up a dream. The people of Bend did not disappoint with their hospitality and friendliness throughout the town. My family had a blast and will visit the DT and Bend again.

Going back every time we're in Bend

Pros: P
Cons: Awesome staff great pool/hot tub convenient location food and a nice quaint bar clean
Location: downtown bend...
I used to stay here when it was the Phoenix Inn. It was good then but now it's excellent! I'll be going back every time I can when in Bend. This hotel is conveniently located in downtown and the price cannot be beat. The hotel staff were incrediblly pleasannt and very polite and helpful. This literally was the best hotel stay I've ever experienced. My GF was constantly commenting on how nice everyone was too. We had 3 children with us and even then it was still an amazingly pleasant stay. The breakfast wasn't free though... That's the only complaint but for 10 bucks a head, it was legit. The place was clean. The pool was functional and warm and the hot tub was HOT. This was a review I had to write just because it was so wonderful. Thank you to the staff who were warm welcoming and friendly. They didn't even laugh at me when I ran into the door and knocked it off the hinges.... I was super tired after a long day of snowboarding and I turned around right into the sliding door and no one even laughed which I fond incredible since I would have not been able to help myself... So A+++.

Excellent customer service

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
The staff was amazingly accomodating. They were prompt and very friendly. There was a large group of kids traveling together so they were somewhat noisy. Pam at the front desk took care of it immediately and also moved us to a different part of the hotel without us even having to ask. Breakfast was hot and a good fresh selection of items. Room was very clean and neat, as was the rest of the hotel.

Great suites in downtown Bend

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
The Phoenix Inn was a really nice hotel for the stay in Bend. The hotel was clean overall and neat. The only amenities that were not there (but the hotel claims they have) is a DVD player in every room. They had fast wireless internet and took care of the noisy swimming team down the hall when it got late. Overall I would easily recommend this place is you are staying in Bend

Pretty rough nights sleep

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, walking distance to downtown
Cons: Noisy
This place is PERFECTLY located within walking distance to anything downtown (a little far to the old mill dist. but do-able). The price is great for the type of hotel and location, but it's your typical chain hotel. The issues we have were that the heater was malfunctioning in the room. No matter what temp we set it at the unit kept coming on raising the room temp to about 80 degrees. Also, slamming door from the hallway could be heard throughout the night. Combined it made for a pretty rough nights sleep.

Suite as an ashtray

Cons: dirty
This place could use a serious make-over and some nicer employees. My room smelled like smoke, the a/c was broken and the windows didn't open. I returned to the front desk and had to wait for the employee to finish her cig before telling her that my room was unacceptable. She proceeded to walk me back to the room and smell it and then told me that's how they all smell and refused to switch my room because housekeeping left at 4pm and there wasn't anybody else there to clean it. As an alternative, I asked if I could purchase a different room and she then proceeded to tell me they were sold out and it would be better if I just left because there were other guests that wouldn't mind the smell. The next day I spoke to the manager, Tom, and he told me that they were planning a remodel so they weren't really concerned about the smell or stains and that the next time I come it would be much nicer. No apologys just a pompous attitude as if everything was perfect and it was my fault for picking a dirty room. Well I doubt you will have completed your rennovation by next week so you won't be seeing me again anytime soon.
