Cozy chalet with good location
Comfortable beds, tidy, easy checkin, nice views and good location. Near the train, easy drive to anchorage, glaciers, hikes and tram. Buy groceries in anchorage as there isn’t much in the way of amenities in town. Big picture windows with nice view up the mountain but little privacy as the cul de sac road runs RIGHT alongside the front of the lodge. Although only few houses in there, people were out and about and driving by. Kitchen wasn’t very well stocked—broiler doesn’t work, large skillet needs replacing, needs teaspoons and a set of measuring cups and there were few spices etc and no dishwasher soap. We needed more than 2 tea towels. Check out process was disappointing to say the least. It is earlier than typical (10am) and we asked for a late checkout, it took them 3 hours to respond and we were told no, when we asked could we just have a bit of extra time (an hour, which is closer to standard) we were told no it’s too late as you have to ask for late checkout before 4pm, which was annoying as we first asked at about 1.30. We did enjoy the very quiet stay.
