We reserved our paid room over a month! We show up and ask us to come back later for check-in. We come back later in the evening and they tell us they have no rooms available and are very sorry! Employee tried to find us accommodations, but was unsuccessful in doing so! Horrible customer service and only got “sorry”

Location in Noord is great. Condition of the building, going down hill quick. Whole building was super hot on check-in with no option to cool the room or open a window. Not that it applies to me but the womens only section security doors were not fucntional so no real seperated area. We still walked through it to our room. The biggest kicker is that there was no hot water and barely any cold water the morning after a 12am checkin and before an appointment. No maintenance staff on a sunday meant no real chance of getting it fixed. Staff was responsive and calm and we did get a refund from hotels.com and all city taxes refunded from the hostel when we decided not to stay a second night and to find another spot. I had to fight for it a bit though. Will not be back or recommend it. Hotel next store though was 👌

Pro: Relatively comfortable for bunk bed, bathroom was generally clean but it also would depend on the people using it. Very easy to get to central area and walkable if you like walking (except for ferry) Cons: no fridge, microwave, no way to buy/store own food (this was not clear on the website). This is important for me and those with dietary restrictions or those looking to save in an expensive city like Amsterdam. Also charges €5 for towel which I think is quite expensive.

The location was very good, just outside of the main city center. Its right next to the tall outlook, right next to the (free, 5 min long) ferry to downtown. I arrived early and had a question about the lockers. The person at the desk was very rude and seemed annoyed that I was even speaking to them. I asked a question about the lockers and their answer was "there's a screen". Not only did it not answer my question, it was very off putting and set the tone for my stay. The place seemed very safe and theres a grocery store around the same block, making it easy to go out and grab a snack. I stayed in a single room with an attached bathroom. It was very clean, the bed wasnt terrible, but I didnt find it difficult to adjust the air. After my check in experience, I didnt want to have to speak with them again, so I dealt with it. Checkout was very easy and the person at the desk was very pleasant this time. All you had to do was drop your room card in and leave!

ClinkNOORD Hostel is absolutely beautiful. I stayed in a 4 bed female room with an ensuite. The beds were comfortable, we each had our own locker to keep our belongings safe (note bring your own lock). The best thing about the bathroom was the toilet and sink were in one room and the shower and sink in another. This was a brilliant idea. I rated the staff with 4 stars because of one person who I met on my arrival, I had taken an overnight flight from Canada. Arrived there at 12:44 pm wet from the short walk in the rain from Amsterdam Centraal and the female clerk told me that I can’t check in until 3 pm because I didn’t pay for an early check-in. She did not welcome me or say that I could wait in any of the common areas. At that time, I didn’t know that I could have waited in the common area. I didn’t feel welcome and did ask if there was a place I could put my suitcase. She gave me no eye contact and abruptly said I could put it in a locker out by the door. So I paid €4 to store my bags. Went back out into the rain feeling exhausted as I had a long flight and went into a venue close by called “This is Holland.” The staff there welcomed me and even though I didn’t buy a ticket to there interesting Holland experience told me that I was welcome to come in to dry off. I stayed there for 3 hours until 3 pm and then was checked in by a kind and welcoming male staff. Every one of the staff for my 3 nights were lovely. The facilities are fantastic. I will return!

Pros: really cool, modern facility with many rooms to hang out in, including a bar/game area, open-space lobby which has sitting space, a café & a pool table, an additional open-space game room for people to chill in, and many bathrooms & shower rooms throughout the hostel — bike rentals — near convenience stores, restaurants & public transportation — lively — hosts games & various activities Cons: the cleanliness of the rooms & facilities are sub-par; I've seen mold in numerous showers near the ceiling due to little ventilation, no toilet paper refills, they don't provide you with much amenities — people are, and will be noisy past "curfew" due to the nature of a "party hostel" — no microwaves, usable kitchens or fridges which isn't great if you're trying not to spend an obscene amount of euros for food — the staff is nice, but sometimes during interactions I felt like I was bothering them with simple requests. Overall an average hostel, I enjoyed my time there and it's in a splendid location! However, I do believe there should be greater emphasis on helping solo travellers mingle and maybe not have children stay at the hostel if you're advertising yourselves as a "party hostel".

The North (Noord) side of Amsterdam is worth exploring. But you are also a 2 min walk from the free ferry that will bring you to Amsterdam Centraal and directly down town. Lively hostel. The rooms are VERY basic (hostel of course) and the bed was painfully uncomfortable.
