Great location and friendly helpful staff. Would be nice if they served bar food after 10 PM. Most restaurants around the area stop serving food at 10 PM. So sometimes the weary traveler has to go to bed hungry.

I would stay there again! But I still wonder why there are no bureau drawers in the rooms.

2 blocks from the art museums. Staff helpful and friendly. Had a drink in the little back yard near the bar delightful. Breakfast room very cheery.

GREAT location in a classy, quiet neighborhood 1 block from Museumplein (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Stedilijk) and 2 blocks in the opposite direction to Vondelpark, with bus access directly to the airport 1 block away, and multiple tram lines within a block that take you to disparate areas of the city and to the hubbub of the Centrum/Dam Square/Red Light District within minutes. My single room was perfect for my needs (planned on spending as little time there as possible in order to be out experiencing the city)... clean, and comfortable bed; I don't require luxuries. Staff was also extremely pleasant and helpful at all times. And I rented a bike sitting right outside the door of the hotel to ride around Vondelpark (I was too cautious to venture out onto the streets). I highly recommend the hotel.

Everything was fine. Just a little small and dated. The pictures aren't really what you get...or at least not in try room we had

Great location, very good hotel

Pros: In my favorite part of the city, very comfortable and well kept with friendly staff. Very reasonable cost given all of the amenities
Cons: There was a noticeable funky odor in the room but it went away as soon as you turned the A/C on
Location: Rijksmuseum is absolutely breathtaking (Van Gogh/Moco/Steledijk are great as well). Don't miss the canal boat tours, too!
This hotel experience was great. Almost everyone was friendly and helpful. Very clean room, small size (but normal for NL), helpful staff. The mini-bar does charge you for items if you pick them up and look at them but not consume them, so fair warning even though I've had that experience in USA too. Location is perfect if you want to be near everything but not so close that you feel like you're staying in the middle of a party, like the red light district can feel sometimes. Room service was nice and prompt. The food was nothing memorable, but understandable as we did order at a really strange hour. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend to all of my friends.

Perfect setting for me!!!

Pros: It was intimate, quiet and clean. And the staff made a very big impression on me. They were outstanding!
Cons: Please add face towels to the bath linen left in the rooms --- I had to ask for them a few times. I am sure I am not the only one who uses those.
Location: It's perfect ---- everything I want was close by: museums, restaurants, first class shopping, tram stop, local supermarket.
The hotel's location was perfect for my preferences and interests as a tourist. It was close to the museums I loved, to the tram station, to outstanding restaurants and yet, there was peace and quiet surrounding the place at any given time. The staff was very helpful, and quick to suggest ideas which may not have occurred to me on my own. My room was small but I expected that. It was always clean and inviting when I return tired and ready to collapse at the end of the day. I walked 7-10 miles a day and saw different hotels along the way, some I had considered staying when I was planning my trip. And I have to congratulate myself for choosing the Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken. This is the hotel for me this time and the next ---- when I return to Amsterdam someday.

perfect locastion

Pros: The room was large enough for both my wife and I..and as stated above,,,easy walking distance to the important museums..
Cons: hard to believe, but ,,,,,nothing
Location: Rijksmuseum,,,,,van gogh museum,,,,,shopping,,,,,,canal rides.......all within easy walking distance
Even though we had to walk a short half block to the hotel due to the construction in the street..........which started at 7am!! the hotel is a great small hotel with a perfect location for anyone who wishes to visit the museums... highly recommended...
