The hotel smelled horrible. The halls the room all smelled of mildew etc. The doors on sides of hotel where not secured and there where half full Ind bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the room.

We were there during Cy-Hawk weekend and paid over $400 for a night. The room we were in was extremely outdated! While the bed was comfortable, I would compare the rest to a basic low-budget motel room. The bathroom and tub were very old and the shower curtain was missing rings. The drain to the tub as on the side, which shows just how old that tub must have been. I want to thank the nice staff, but we will never stay there again.

First impression walking into our room was the musty smell. Bathroom needs a dire update, aside from the mold along the baseboards and probably the ceiling tile with water spots all over. The cherry on top was the little cricket in our room that we could hear chirping all night long and into the morning. There’s more I could say, especially about the breakfast but I’m going to leave it at that. Thank you for providing a place for us to sleep but we will never be staying here again.

You get what you pay for. The room, linens, and towels were clean. The safe in the room was broken. Walls are paper-thin, so we could hear our neighbors in the room next to us the entire time. The air conditioning unit had mold on the vents, so I wasn’t comfortable turning it on until after I scrubbed it down. If you’re not picky, it’s fine. But I wouldn’t recommend it unless better options aren’t available.

Good stay in Ames. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with friendly staff at the front desk. Breakfast was simple but convenient. The room was fine for resting, though some areas could use a little update. Overall, good value for a stay.

Room had a strange odor. Tub drained extremely slowly. AC unit made lots of noise and caused us to loose sleep. Electrical outlet on nightstand didn’t work so cell phone and watch didn’t charge. No bowls for cereal. No real creamer, just coffee mate.

The beds were super comfy and the room was great. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast however was less than desirable. When we got there at 8:30 there was only one egg, lots of sausages and no biscuits and gravy. The breakfast area was very dirty.

The room itself was good, clean, bed was comfy, bathroom was clean, toilet needs some working on as you have to hold the flusher down for like 20 seconds for all your bodily contents to go down the toilet, the elevator by the back entrance smells like a homeless individual camped out in it for a while and the carpets needs replaced in that bad boy, also the back doors don’t stay locked for safety. We stayed for 3 days and the back door was never locked. The breakfast was good, tv worked fine. Internet didn’t work the first day, but the second day was fixed. Overall, it was okay.

Not a Quality experience.

Not so good. Excellent staff deserve a better hotel. They were very helpful. The facility is in poor shape. Finishes are tired and worn out. Out of date. Air was stale. Several check ins ahead of me had serious problems with their reservations. Staff had to negotiate difficult issues to satisfy customers expectations. The pool was out of order and unavailable, causing real issues for the many youth in town for competition at the Iowa Games who had expected to enjoy the pool.

It was not like the pictures. First night we had no A/C it was horrible it was cooler in the hall than our room. We did get moved to another room. The price was more than double because of the graduation. Bathroom was awful no water pressure, looked dirty and stained.
