Rosalma Hostel
"Staff was very kind and helpful. Gave great recommendations for the city and culture. Place was very clean including bathrooms. Rooms were privately laid out with curtains. Bed was too firm for my comfort. They preferred to not allow the AC below 24C though - so if you can’t sleep in the heat you ..."

Porto Riad Guest House
"It’s a quirky guesthouse done up like a Marrakesh Road, so it has plenty of character. The wiring was old fashioned and the room very warm on an early summer night. We had 2 rooms, comfortable beds, a simple bathroom with two showers: one not working."

Hotel Universal
"Great location I'm really good considering it's a super old property. That's to be expected when you're staying in the Heritage District in the Heritage Square. Awesome location! Unfortunately progress happens and a lot was under construction that the time because I believe they are installing a ..."

"The room was clean but way too small. The shower is tiny so if you're a plus size person, I don't recommend it. Staff was helpful and courteous. Breakfast was okay but nothing fancy. Street was too noisy during night."

Zero Box Lodge Porto
"Let me start by saying they have the best hotel reception staff ever. Truly. Down to earth, genuinely cool, helpful, all around amazing. The “concept” of the box design room though is not for everyone. It’s more of a capsule hotel. I found many aspects of the box a bit frustrating: the room lacks basic amenities (think ledges for your toiletries bags, a ledge in the shower for your soap/toiletries, basic hooks for towels, etc). It’s frustrating because these “hyper-minimalist designs” sometimes veer on basic cheapness. And that’s what it sadly felt like. I’m also very short and the ceilings were extremelyyyy low, so I don’t know how my 6’1 friends/family could ever stay here. I would not recommend this hotel is anyone with claustrophobia, etc since there are no windows either. That said, I had an amazing night’s sleep but the overall design was not for me. I’m a design editor/writer so…yeah…it didn’t hit. BUT the staff was top tier/5 star. Rooftop is lovely, too."
