Unbeatable Location with Room for Improvement

The Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel enjoys one of the most perfect locations in the city, right on the riverfront with truly breathtaking views—without doubt its greatest highlight. Waking up to the scenery of the Douro was a memorable experience. While the setting is outstanding, the rooms felt somewhat dated and could benefit from updates to match the hotel’s prestigious reputation. In addition, we found the staff, more specifically manager, to be less warm and welcoming compared to other hotels of a similar class, which was a little surprising given the brand’s usual high standards. Overall, it is a beautiful property with incredible surroundings, but with some improvements in service and room modernization, it could become as remarkable inside as the view it offers outside.

Wonderful place to stay

Hotel is wonderful. People (i hesitate to call them staff) made us feel as ofcwe were visiting friends. They went above and beyond in a few situatuins makingvsure we got what we wanted. A surprise Happy Birthday fir myvfriend was very special. I can't recommend this hitherto enough

We were happy to receive a complimentary bottle of wine. We were initially given a super room on the 5th floor, but because it smelt strongly of damp, we requested a different room. The hotel dealt with it quickly and found us a clean slightly smaller room on the 4th floor

Perfect location and amazing staff!

We absolutely loved this property and the location is perfect! The staff was so kind and accommodating - definitely five star service. The breakfast was perhaps the best I’ve had at a European hotel. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone I know coming to Porto.
