Touching untouched land at Snake Mountain which cuts through Zionville, NC, highlights the beauty of the land that Appalachia stands for. The beauty of the Appalachian Mountains is apparent as my friends and I risk encountering dangerous animals and steep hills as we hike through untamed, flourished plants. Weeding through the hectic trees we encountered an even deeper meaning of untouched land as we came across cows and horses grazing in the land. The beauty of Snake Mountain is apparent as human trails are highlighted with slight indentations in the grass and burnt fire pits that are inhabited by the local animals. The pure lack of industrialization is a welcoming feature and trait of Appalachia that people of the region love and embrace. #appalachianechoes

This is a picture of a tiny gas station on the way to Tennessee out of Boone. What caught my eye about this gas station, besides the fact that the gas pumps didn't work, was the barn art hanging on the top. Barn art is something that I have always found interesting because no matter where you drive in the mountains you are bound to run across at least a couple. I also noticed that this was more of a grocery store/hardware store instead of a convince store. The man behind the counter was selling homemade jam, honey and wooden art work. #appalachianechos
You're driving through the Appalachian mountains, and you stop to get out and see the highway view of the blue ridge parkway. But does this actually let you get an insight to how beautiful the land truly is?No, you have to get out there and find the view that fits for you. That highway view is something that everyone see's just passing through and it isn't special. Getting out into the mountains like this, is one of the many ways that i love to get away from things and get that "me time". I suggest that everyone get out and take some time to get away from technology and become close to nature.
