Good Facilities, Room is Small

I got the deluxe room but it turned out to be extremely small and I did not feel that it was worth the extra amount that I paid for it compared to a normal room. The toilet does not seem to have any heating so it is very cold in the winter. What I liked about this hotel though, is the great view of Ueno Park and also access to the hotel's onsen. It allowed me to take a relaxing soak after a long day of walking around. Breakfast selection was good as well!

Intimate Hotel in Tokyo Near Ueno Park

Very nice hotel near Ueno park in Tokyo. The staff was very helpful and the rooms nicely furnished. The hotel is small and intimate. Would recommend for a couple staying in Tokyo.

Great Location and caring employees, w/ water leak

The property is in a good location in terms of parks, transportation, and shopping areas. The hotel is in good condition and check in was fairly easy as all front desk employees spoke English. The room itself was small (although I have heard most Japanese hotel rooms are small, all other hotels we stayed in were Western based, for example Hilton). There was about a foot of space on each side of the king bed. The shower and bathroom was tiny and taking a shower for me wasn't easy as I am 6'2. Fortunately, they have baths that are usable most of the time. There was a heavy rain and there was a leak into the corner of my room. The water leak stained a shirt. After I spoke with the manager I was told the water leak is normal for heavy rains. To fix the stained shirt, he hand washed it (on his own volition) and what he did worked and in fact made it softer, which is good. The wifi did not work well, but they have an ethernet connection so I was able to use my own travel router.

Highly reccommended and great location

I stayed at the hotel 11 nights in a row. The reception was friendly. The rooms are small (as always in Japan, but comfortable. The view of the park was great. Spa/ hot bath amenities are good (remember to make a reservation for the stone bath) at no extra cost. Washing machine and microwave at the guests' disposal on the 2nd floor. Good breakfast, though sometimes a little crowded. The location near Ueno park is only a 5 minutes walk from the Narita express train, and there are several metro and also another train station nearby. Ueno park has several important museums, the Zoo and temples. I highly recommend this hotel and location. Only Japanese TV channels, as far as I was able to find out.

Comfy, cozy and a great view!

This hotel had a great view of Ueno Park, just gorgeous. The room was small but comfortable and plenty of little toiletries as well.

This was the fourth time that I've stayed at the Coco Grand in the last 3 years and this time was just as good as previous times. The staff are friendly and I love the location overlooking Ueno Park's lilly pond. Transport links are excellent being close to the Narita skyliner station and Ueno JR station. Rooms aren't spacious but that's often the case in Tokyo. The hotel can arrange to have luggage sent on to other hotels and I've had my cases sent ahead of me to Coco Grande when travelling around Japan and it hasn't been a problem. Breakfast is a reasonable selection. The hotel also has vending machines and a washing machine/dryer. I definitely intend to stay here again on my next stay in Tokyo.
