I found the lower level staff to be very nice. The medium level staff wanted nothing better to do than order us around like sheep. Not just one but several. Very unneeded and unnecessary. Too bad. We are returning guests and was disappointed.

Not the Waldorf Astoria I know

I chose this hotel for its location and views near the Vatican, which are truly excellent. The staff and service were warm and attentive, but unfortunately, the property itself does not live up to the Waldorf Astoria standard. The rooms and hallways are in serious need of modernization—the carpets were faded or stained, the furniture worn, and the overall décor felt dated, more like stepping into my great-grandmother’s house than a luxury hotel. Adding to the disappointment, my bathroom towels were frayed on more than one occasion, even after I specifically asked for replacements. With its prime location, this hotel has incredible potential, but until it undergoes a much-needed refresh, it falls short of the brand’s reputation. For the price, there are better options.

Loved that we were out of the central city. Shuttle convenient to the city. Hotel was beautiful even though we didn't use the amenities they were great. Reception desk was very knowledgeable. Minor complaint we asked about water as it was not there and then the second night two bottles were there after we brought our own. We ate on the patio and the dining area by the pool as well as breakfast. Can say we felt like we were at a resort.

Too much cost for an old apartment complex with a fancy name slapped on it. We requested and booked a room with a view of Rome, the put us on the other side of the building facing the other apartment complexes opposite of the city center direction. When we requested them to fix our reservation they tried to charge us an extra 149 euros a night and we already paid close to $1200 for 3 nights…terrible. This Waldorf is probably the most disappointing one we have stayed at. It wasn’t terrible because the facilities were cool and unique and the complex was large, it was just too overpriced for what the rooms were and the location is too far outside of town. When it comes to real estate, the price is all about 3 things: location, location, location!

We had a great time in a very nice hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the shower system in the room. The shower only had a half-part partition, so depending on the angle of the shower head, the bathroom got wet. I think this is a design issue that needs to be improved. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

The worst experience with customer service in my life. I think a hostel wouldn't treat its guests the way my wife and I were treated. It transpired that halfway through our stay we have exceeded our pre-authorised deposit for extra charges. So on Saturday night we get a time stamped letter at 10.30pm to immediately speak to management and then we got a follow up letter at 5.30 in the morning!! We didn't notice the first letter since we came back to the room late at 2 in the morning. Our TV started flashing that we urgently need to speak to management. I spoke to management and told them I am checking out the following evening and will pay all outstanding bill then. They then accosted my wife at breakfast to pay immediately - even though they had our passports and credit card information. When I calmly complained about the aggressive nature of enforcing this, the manager snapped at me sarcastically and mockingly that we should not come back to the hotel if we have a problem with the way they run their finances. Moreover, the crowd is very rowdy and unpleasant in the hotel and the rooms and facilities are extremely dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Would never stay again.
