When we arrived to check in there was another customer waiting. After a few minutes we asked if she was being helped. She said worker had been there initially but disappeared. We waited another 10 minutes before a worker walked with a stack of towels behind the front desk. He didn't greet either of us and just started stocking behind the desk. Finally, we asked if he could help us & he said they were shorthanded and needed to finish restocking before he could help us check in. Not the best way to start off. Later, I returned to ask a couple of questions about getting to downtown and the same desk worker just said, "There's several ways to get." That's it, so suggestions or anything. Not at all helpful.

This hotel was nice and have very friendly and kind staff. It’s a hotel to stay in for a night while passing through, definitely not one you would want to vacation in. It’s next to a very busy highway, so it is very loud. If you’re a sound sleeper though, this won’t bother you. Hotel is very clean, and for the price of a night, can’t be beat!

The room was very clean and well organized. Any staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great - many choices including yogurt, fruit, whole wheat toast, and cereals.

Shower didn't work. Water would only come out of bathtub faucet. Was asked by person at front desk, if I moved the lever around? "Sometimes you have to play with it to find a sweet spot." I took shower using a cup to pour water on me. When I asked if there was anything that they could do with my bill for the hassle she said no. When I asked for the card of the GM she gave t to me and said, "You can go now" like I was dismissed. Just awful. I can almost handle the shower not working, but her attitude was atrocious.

Room was super cute. MCM decor. Very clean. The staff was really friendly. The breakfast was very lacking. Hardly anything to choose from. No hot foods. No pancake or waffle options. But if you aren’t interested in a full breakfast spread, the stay is quite comfortable!

Simple, but very clean and comfortable. Given the high prices of lodging in Portsmouth, this affordable property is a great option! I only wish they had an elliptical machine in their fitness room.

Can’t say enough about this hotel. Great place to spend the night. Convenient to highways. Very clean, comfortable bed, modern nostalgia with a nod to the original Howard Johnson. The gentleman who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. And be sure and try the diner across the street.
