Glad we had a room in the older part - more character. The hotel is an easy walk to downtown and Strawberry Banke.

Likes: Location, comfortable bed, complimentary breakfast. Dislikes: The hotel is experiencing a staffing shortage so rooms are not cleaned each day and fresh towels not provided unless requested. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the noise from the 3rd floor guests footsteps was loud. The towel rack in the bathroom was loose and fell off. The room furnishings are old and dated and the room itself needed a painting. All in all not worth the price of admission and there are better options in its price range.

The location was perfect. We never used the car once it was parked. There were 2 rooms in which you could relax and have a glass of wine if desired. Coffee was available in the breakfast room and when there was not a pot ready, a new pot was made for me. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Very clean, well kept and well appointed. Felt homey and staff was appropriately friendly and helpful. Considering the limitations of Covid, breakfast was great

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Portsmouth. I was concerned a standard queen room would be very small but it was actually quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself was very nice including the dining area and lounges. The hotel's location was easy walking distance to all of the downtown attractions and restaurants without having to worry about parking. The only negative encountered was the breakfast. The spread included some fruit and bagels and small parfaits and fruit cups but there was no substantial food. On both days we stayed we ended up having to find a second breakfast in town.

Prime location, lovely hotel

Pros: Location is perfect for getting around to all the great shops and sights in town.
Cons: All was great...staff friendly and welcoming. Fresh Water and hot coffee were the best!
Location: Quick visit with old college buddy. The women's clothing boutiques were great...wish we had more time to shop. All food was excellent.
Hotel has been modernized with just enough updating to make it comfortable, but not so overdone that it does not feel right for the age of the hotel. Bed was so comfy, the room was the right temp and no very quiet.
