Places to stay that can be found within a close distance of the downtown area of Pauanui, are the Grand Mercure Puka Park Resort and Pauanui Pines Motor Lodge.
17 miles (28 kilometers) outside of the heart of Pauanui, you can find the Sovereign Pier on the Waterways. Alternatively, the Admiralty Lodge Motel can be found about 18 miles (29 kilometers) away. An alternative option is to investigate the At Parkland Place or the Pacific Harbour Lodge.
The larger North Island district is definitely well worth having a look at too. North Island is marked by beaches. Frequented visitor places of interest include art museums. In this region of New Zealand adventurous visitors may also enjoy snowboarding.
Coromandel is 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the northwest of Pauanui and is where you'll find Coromandel Historical Museum and Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery. A few Coromandel hotels include the Indigo Bush Studios and Coromandel TOP 10 vacation Park. Or, you could stay the night in Tairua, 4 miles (7 kilometers) to the north of Pauanui, where you'll find the Ocean Breeze Resort and Tairua Shores. The Tairua Beach and Mount Paku are a couple of the popular sites to check out should you visit Tairua.
If you are interested in sport and enjoy watching matches make sure you get to Vector Arena, found 60 miles (99 kilometers) to the west of Pauanui. Book a hotel not far from the sporting action at the Hotel DeBrett or the Hilton Auckland.
If you are flying through Tauranga Airport and desire to stay in the area, why not consider Trinity Wharf Tauranga or The Terraces at Ocean Beach.

"Very clean and beautiful rooms. Also beautiful restaurant, fantastic when I paid for add-on breakfast - best breakfasts of whole NZ trip. They do not provide clean bed sheets daily fyi. The dinners were also fantastic and the view from the rooms was fantastic. Difficult if you have any sort of knee or ankle issue - lots of very steep uphill, lots of stairs. Resort is at the edge of a cute suburb, rather than totally isolated as the pictures imply. Some of the most friendly staff I have ever experienced. Awful road through the mountains to get to it though. Some of the most winding and tiny roads with rude fellow drivers I have seen."
