The home was beautiful and well stocked. The host was also very responsive when we had a question about the internet connection and the TV. Finally, as happens in Wisconsin, it snowed. All walkways were cleared before we even needed them. Perfect weekend.

My wife and I and our Shih-Tzu stayed here for three nights and it was an extremely pleasant stay. The home is nicely decorated, very clean, and very well stocked. We even had a fire (wood provided) on the final night and made S'mores (kit also provided) which was very fun. Absolutely no complaints, and we would definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect place for our family group of six adults. The house is in great shape, the owners/managers were immediately responsive to a couple basic questions, and instructions were clear and easy. Air conditioning worked beautifully, we never ran out of hot water, and all appliances are new and in great shape. The kitchen is fantastic, rightly shown as the highlight, and was perfect for breakfasts. (We had lunch and dinner every day at a family home 10 minutes away). I grew up in the area as a kid, and Oconomowoc - while still very much small-town America - has grown nicely with a relatively large range of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops, and a sizeable grocery store is only a five minute drive away. The central part of town is a short walk from the house. The only real caution I offer would be if you have younger kids who need to be supervised: the backyard is fairly spacious, but there is an active train line just beyond it. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

This was a great property for our stay in Oconomowoc for a family reunion. The home has been recently renovated, including all new appliances in the kitchen. The entire home was clean and well stocked with everything you might need. The fire pit, gas grill, and picnic table in the back yard were great for a Father's Day cookout with our family. Lastly, it's a short walk to all of the restaurants and bars in downtown Oconomowoc. We will be back when we visit Oconomowoc again.

Don’t hesitate—it’s that good

We stayed at this beautiful home for four nights. It is even better than the photos. It was spotless. There were stacks of towels and plenty of hot water. During a week when the highs were very high we kept cool, no sweat. The hosts responded quickly to our questions. It’s a true five-star property. Go ahead and book it!

Perfection!

We were so happy to have such a lovely and clean place to call home during our family’s whirlwind weekend! Jason and Melissa set the perfect stage to host a College Graduation/Mothers Day/Birthday celebration. Their space is gorgeous, spotless and overflowing with amenities. Super close to boutique shopping and restaurants, but located in a quiet neighborhood, loved it! Absolutely recommend!

Comfortable, convenient, cozy, and fun stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Iron Ore Retreat while visiting family who live about a 5-min walk away over the holidays. The hosts have so much attention to detail that made our stay easy and pleasant. The WiFi password was posted in multiple places throughout the property, there was plenty of coffee and creamer, spare blankets in the living room to relax with, extra towels in the bathroom, wine opener and glasses and everything we could need in the kitchen. The WiFi was fast. The padlock to access the property was easy to use. The bed was comfortable. The home was super clean and beautifully decorated. We loved that home was updated with modern heating (which worked great) and a new kitchen and bathrooms, but retains some of its original vintage character. Checkout was easy, I’ve stayed at places that require a lot of cleaning/checkout instructions, but checkout at the Iron Ore Retreat was simple and convenient. We liked the location - you can walk to downtown Oconomowoc. Thanks for the wonderful stay, we hope we’ll be back!
